Fighting games aren't that great on the PC, in my opinion. Midway tried it before with MK4 I believe, and it didn't do too well, so they just decided 'Fuck it' and went console-only.
PSN Asia is finally back up again, decided to have my first try at a few online matches and holy shit, the lag is unbearable. It either takes long to register my button presses or the game session just flat out ends.
It's pretty understandable though, it's more likely to find international players than local because PSN just came up like half an hour before I started playing.

apparently the netkode is really bad right now, they said they'll be fixing it in a title patch when PSN is fully online again/.
So I won my first online match by completely shutting out my opponent.
Felt good.

My Xbox sometimes fucks up and gives me the "PLAY THIS IN AN XBOX, DUMBSHIT" message anyway, since the message is just a Video DVD bit.

Meh. I started playing with the top players so my losses went skyrocketing.
Anyone knows a good way to start a combo online? Usually an opponent just locks me down and ends up me blocking because I dont have any moves fast enough (that I know of) to counter him. I mainly play Ermac at the moment.

Jump kick/punch is a good way to hit confirm and start a combo right after, you may also consider learning an overhead combo in case he ducks a lot. If he's an unbreakable wall, just grab.
Always remember that you should never use a special abilities against an obviously blocking opponents. They are not bots which you can predicts if they are going to attack, if you spam offensive teleports a lot like smoke's and scorpion's, they can and WILL wait until you take a chance and give them a free combo.

But I mean what if he's having constant pressure on me, I just stand there blocking stuff and when I try to land a punch he's ALWAYS faster. And I know about the blocking part, Ermac is pretty sweet for that as you can mindfuck your enemy with the hover slam. You can hold it and if he's not blocking you can cancel to teleport. If he's blocking just continue with the hover slam.
I have an 18/8 Win-Loss, somehow. I'm pretty sure I haven't won nearly that much.

Generally when someone is mashing me I just end up waiting for is combo to finish then do a sweep/uppercut or any really quick attack (Raiden's special, Smoke's teleport,etc.) which turns the table to your advantage, you can either take that time to plan a counter-attack or jump/dash away to give you zonning space.
Worst thing to do is to mash back. Most of the time starting your combo takes longer than the second/third/... strike of his, therefore you're just leaving yourself defenseless.
Also if you haven't noticed that already ground grabs also work on ducking opponents so don't expect dodging everything by crounch ducking.

I skipped those where you need to fight so the angle of the camera turns to your side, lowering your opponent's health.

I completed them but they were annoying as hell, only one that I've skipped so far is that one with mileena and baraka and zombies comming from both ways. But I'm only at 260 or so.
I beat the challenge tower around 3-5 days after the games release.
