Well, it's on steam now... And it's frankly pretty awful. If you like this, try Vindictus, better version of the same thing.
I played this for a while today with a friend. It has some good ideas but boy is it a buggy mess and kinda dull.
I'm interested in knowing how a Chinese game production can end up with a character named Frantz Kruger
Do you think Chinese can't think up names that doesn't sound Chinese? They have Internet too, you know.
Can I get an invite?
Can I get an invite?
It's open now, the Steam release should've been convincing enough.

I've been playing quite a bit of this lately, and I've actually rather enjoyed it.
I like the art style but it just looks like another game of nothing but grinding.
Not on MY steam.
I like the art style but it just looks like another game of nothing but grinding.
Funny, because the art style is my least favorite aspect of the game. But so far I haven't noticed that it's particularly grindy. It really helps that its combat plays like Devil May Cry, rather than another other old "click-and-watch-attack" MMO.
If you like this style of online game just play Vindictus instead, its a better experience.
If you like this style of online game just play Vindictus instead, its a better experience.
Yeah, I have to say that I like Vindictus more than this game after having played them both.
I kinda felt like this was a 3D version of Dungeon Fighter Online Which is a good thing for me since I like both games... Vindictus actually felt boring and repetitive, and cramped because the dungeons had WAY too many cramped spots. But that's ENTIRELY my opinion. And I didn't like the insane contrast between Mabinogi and Vindictus. One was cutsey and they other was realistic and violent. I don't really understand it.

Makes sense to me, if I was a Mabinogi fan I'd like to see a "realistic" and fast take on combat.
I just found it odd, was all... But I'm just weird like that. Everyone has a different taste.
The only Problem I've noticed is that they're using X-Trap, which is the worst fucking available game "Protecting" anti-cheat engine that was ever created by human hands, which kills Skype, sometimes Steam itself, and your Anti Virus if it decides to verify the X-Trap DLLs or the game's executable. Sigh.

Bump, I need some help with Rusty hearts, for the last week I tried everything to fix "fail to download patch update(s) [12002]" it is really annoying and I really want to play this game, I never played it before and it looks good.
Level 24 Tude here, I can't help but feel Tude is the most tolerable character in the game. If you get offended by this, do respond with insults and all that, but I just have to take this off my chest. So, first of all we have Angela, who I've aptly renamed Bitch the Witch. All she ever does is throw bad jokes and retarded lines, never actually contributing to the plot or showing character depth. She's frigging 16 or so, should start learning responsibility and still acts like a 3-year old baby with no regard for actually serious matters like a massive villain threatening to conquer the world with his minions. Then comes Frantz, aptly renamed Emo Twilight. He's serious which is a nice contrast the the obnoxious redhead bitch. However, he kind of fails the role of being a cool-headed person when he starts throwing equally bad jokes and one-liners that Angela's character suffers from. Sure, it's an MMO and all and I shouldn't be whining about the story, but still. Come on, man. Natasha is actually someone I can't judge yet since I haven't seen much dialogue from her. From the back story that the menu provides I'd say it's a little unbelievable that usually they're the sisters Grimm, but suddenly they get all srs and manage to stay on an honest track of life? Yeah, sure, a 40-year old serial rapist never looks little girls wrong either. Otherwise, I really can't judge the character. Then comes
TUDE FUCKING MACLEOD.
Actually, he has his own flaws but compared to the obnoxious characteristics of the other three (Natasha having that oversexed model, not as much her character though.) he is quite a tolerable character. He seems carefree but can actually get serious in a relatively believable manner where it isn't instant and fits his reckless way of life where he kind of just doesn't give a fuck if there's a huge Sinful Seraph in front of him, wielding a 330 lbs hammer. He also doesn't throw one-liners or horrid jokes, but instead tries to stay on topic when talking with the NPC's in them dialogues. Let me give you an example. NPC: I need you to kill 1000 skeleton soldiers hurr Angela: WOW WHAT LOLNOPE FUCK YOU IM A GIRL I CANT DO DAT Frantz: Hnnnnngh, this is starting to bone me... Natasha: lol i dont have dialogue Tude: Lol k, be right back with the quest.
ALSO, SHAMELESS SELF-ADVERTISING HERE
For any EU players, if you get kicked out of a guild because of annoying weekly exp requirements, my guild sounds like your thing. Youkai Academy doesn't have any of that weekly requirement bullshit, just as long as you stop by once in a while and say hi so I know you're not just an abandoned account. Is it a popular guild? No, Does it have many members? No, Does it have a warehouse yet? No, but YOU can change that.

Played this game for awhile, didn't like it. No character customization and it felt like it was trying to appeal to anime fans too much.

I actually liked how streamlined it was, I could focus more on combat instead of thinking what retarded buff should I get to that level 47 curse spell I learned from a skill tutor in Ass city.
The controls with a gamepad are oh my god. [editline]20th November 2011[/editline] In a good way.
