What's the feature?
Not entirely sure. Everything carries over, assume enemies get stronger, and certain aspects of the game change a bit from the way it seems.
Is that narratator not the same one as in Fallout?
No it isn't Ron Perlman.
What's the feature?
You keep all your weapons, levels and collectibles. You also unlock the last 3-4 gods to invoke, potentially making the game much harder. [editline]12th August 2011[/editline] Also you get the to see the other ending.
I'll be buying this soon.
Released today, did anyone else pick it up? Thoughts?
I tried to download the demo, when I click on it nothing happens, is this happening for anyone else?
Released today, did anyone else pick it up? Thoughts?
I did. I've only put about 2 hours in but it's been a nice 2 hours. From what I've played it's fun as hell and the narrator idea is really cool and funny at times.
Bastion was great. Took about 5 hours for me, in one sitting. Great game. Everything from the Gameplay to the soundtrack is amazing. On par with Portal 2 in terms of how much I enjoyed it.
I decided to try the demo to see what the fuss was about, and was pleasantly suprised. Love the art direction, narration, combat etc. I'll probably pick this up when it goes on sale.
Now I'm imagining everything I read in the narrator's voice. My life has become much more interesting.
Just beat it, flat out amazing. The ending gave me chills, and it wasn't only because of the music. Bastion was a remarkable breath of fresh air, one that I won't soon forget. Hopefully we see more from Supergiant games in the future.
5 hours in and I'm really enjoying it so far. Easily one of the best games I've played.
Hopefully we see more from Supergiant games in the future.
^This.
New Game +?
Already started my next playthrough, aiming for 100% on the monument this time. I believe I only missed two of the vigils in my first playthrough. For those of you who beat the game, [sp]which ending do you prefer and why? To be honest i'm a bit torn, restoring the world to its former glory (even though it may all collapse again) is quite a good way to wrap things up, but the four of them sticking together at the end doesn't leave a sour taste in my mouth either.[/sp]
Picked this up today and have played a few hours. The gameplay is pretty simple, but it's still really well executed. There is a lot of fun to be had playing around playing around with different weapon combos. Mostly I've stuck with the hammer and bow or combine, but the spear and musket are growing on me. As everybody above has said the narration, art style, and soundtrack all perfectly suit this game.

And we brought Zulf too. I liked the End too, thou it seemed like the Kid and Zia had harder lives because of it. Though it was nice seeing Zulf and his wife happy for a time, despite what he'd done to the Bastion.[/sp] Both endings were very good but doing the End and then the Beginning on a New Game+ seemed the best for me. [sp]Zulf got to be with his wife, even if he couldn't remember it and Zia and the Kid got to live better lives after their sacrifice.[/sp] Rucks seemed like he was fine with either choice. [sp]I mean he becomes the captain of a flying town, how badass is that?[/sp]
[sp]And we brought Zulf too.[/sp]
[sp]I liked that Zulf was taken without any hints at 'revenge' or anger towards him, what he did was wrong but if there was ever a model for an Anti-Villain Zulf would be it. Plus, him cooking with the pet Squirt was good shit.[/sp]

I did so because I thought it seemed the obvious choice now. Nothing is generally wrong with this world, and nobody is doomed to die or fail. Why reset what life has given to you?[/sp]
best game ever
best game ever
Okay, now I'm actually tempted to buy at full price. But my wallet...

Pirate on /v/ asking how to get a cracked version of Bastion to work, thread turns on him tells him to go fuck himself. feelsgoodman.
I bought the Bastion Soundtrack Edition on Steam. Totally worth it.
I bought the Bastion Soundtrack Edition on Steam. Totally worth it.
I had no idea they were selling it via Steam. [editline]17th August 2011[/editline] Bought it. Thanks for the info!
If you still haven't picked this game up yet, I encourage you to do so.
If you still haven't picked this game up yet, I encourage you to do so.
Ah screw it. Got 70€ to live off for the next month... So -14, but then there's The Binding of Isaac and other indies lurking about. But heck, no way Bastion is going on sale any time soon, and it looks really refined. Getting Limbo for free further justifies it. I'm getting it now.
love this song
I will most likely buy this game now because that demo was amazing. The narrator, the art style, the gameplay. Holy fuck this is a great game.
I'm blown away by the art, man. And the music. Looking forward to Supergiant Games next releases.
