Any tips for a beginner? And maybe a good nation to start with?
Try not to get too greedy. If you take over a an entire country chances are you cannot keep it because they are cocky and require you to kick more ass. And having tons of new provinces means you will get tons of rebels. Soon enough the game turns into "beat down the rebels for years upon years".
The aforementioned rebel-beating is a step towards VICTOGLORY and Kickass Generals
Any tips for a beginner? And maybe a good nation to start with?
Portugal is a good European country to start off with. You start off with a decent navy which can give you a head start in colonization.
Any tips for a beginner? And maybe a good nation to start with?
Play france, fuck your navy, conquer anyone that looks at you wrong.
ARGH, trying to get a single textile factory is frustrating. I get the tech level for it, then it says I need to get another building that requires higher level tech, okay I get that tech level and I build the building then it tells me I need to build another building and get further tech, when does it end?!?! [editline]10th February 2011[/editline] workshops are glorious though, I've more than doubled my yearly income by building them in the majority of my provinces
Play france, fuck your navy, conquer anyone that looks at you wrong.
This is what the first month of HTTT consisted of for me
Alright so I got the trade technology needed to build a market place but.. turns out there is yet another building I need that requires government tech 4x greater than what I have Here is my glorious Korea in 413, I now have a greater income than both Rome and Byzanty :) Next step: build up the army to that lovely ~120 regiment limit
Gobble up the wee Japanese!
Where do I find the maps that the game saves?
Right on the menu! Just click to "Game Saves" in the top left section of the singleplayer. Aka Singleplayer -> Switch "Scenarios" With "Saved Games"
Where do I find the maps that the game saves?
I think they're in the screenshots folder, in the main game directory.
I've been playing as some little country in western Europe and never bothered to check the rest of the world and oh god who is that huge yellow/orange blob holy shit oh my god why are they so big.
France as it is in July 1439; Even though they have a inadequate fleet compared to mine, the 25k army in Limousin still makes me feel queasy. I fear for the worst there will be another Anglo-French war for the British-held provinces some time in the near future and I will be dragged into it more less than I think. Algiers is making me nervous, too. With only a 8k army I'm praying for the best they don't dow me any time soon, or at least hopefully not in the same timespan that that I get involved in another European war with the French. But I find it unlikely they will ever do so. Mean while across the Atlantic, I'm sending colonists to expand into Beothuk and beyond. I'll also, hopefully, explore Cape Verde as well so I can throw some colonists over there too.
What should I invest money in? (Government, production sliders etc.)
This is what was said about sliders earlier on:
Don't do that. Your best bet is to focus ALL of your funds into one tech and prioritize only within one tech level. So put all your funds into government, then when that gets to the next level put it all into trade, and so on. Never neglect one type of tech, you may need it later on.
Guys how do I annex somebody? I just beat the shit out of France as Orleans. 100% victory yet no annex option.
You can only annex them if they're 1 province or primitives.
Don't you also need a royal marriage and wait for 10 years or something? Or was that something else.. But whatever, you need to demand their provinces until they run out.
Was that why I couldn't annex the Moroccans a few years back? Wow all this time I thought it was because my English and Spanish allies had territory they occupied as well, that's horse shit.
You can annex kingdoms larger than one province, you just need to have captured all of them yourself. (I'm playing with Divine Wind, if it matters) Oh wait, my mistake, wasn't playing a Western country.
Don't you also need a royal marriage and wait for 10 years or something? Or was that something else..
I believe that's for demanding to annex a vassal, you needed relations above 190 too
I should definitely get this game and make AARs.
I felt like doing a AAR Portugal with my current one, but it's probably too late for that now.
I'm thinking the same, it isn't as fun when I'm already considered a great power with 1600 years left to go :(
In 60 Years (From Start), Urbino held off the might of the Papal States, Annexing them and then taking Firenze. As it grew, It soon encompassed Siena and then chipped two provinces from Naples (Conquest Core) In which they finally went peaceful until forming Italy and taking all of Milan. Now Naples is just trapped on sicily.
I like the thought of annexing the Papal states, does anything significant happen if you do it?
You take a relations hit with all catholic nations.
I laughed at the sight when Aragon declared Independence from their Spanish bros, had their king excommunicated and twice had two pretender overthrows. All within the same year. [editline]14th February 2011[/editline] And then get gobbled up again by Castille a few years later, god I love this game.
You take a relations hit with all catholic nations.
That and then the Papal States basically send a "Fuck you" If you don't give them Rome and Romagna back, They end up making others annex another small country so they can live :v:
How does one board troops onto ships?
