Open up the save file you want to use (should be europa/save games in notepad, always nice to backup first of course!) and then scroll to the bottom of the entire thing, assuming that the three letter nation code is BYZ just do an upwards search for BYZ= and it should take you to something that looks like this for me in Eastern Tales:
BYZ= { history= { government=imperial_government aristocracy_plutocracy=-3 centralization_decentralization=-1 innovative_narrowminded=2 mercantilism_freetrade=-3 offensive_defensive=0 land_naval=1 quality_quantity=-1 serfdom_freesubjects=-2 primary_culture=greek religion=orthodox technology_group=eastern historical_friend="SER" historical_friend="KIV" historical_friend="KHZ" historical_friend="GMV" historical_friend="GBG" capital=151
And you should be able to just change the "religion=sunni" to orthodox from there

BYZ= { history= { government=imperial_government aristocracy_plutocracy=-3 centralization_decentralization=0 innovative_narrowminded=2 mercantilism_freetrade=-3 offensive_defensive=2 land_naval=1 quality_quantity=-1 serfdom_freesubjects=-2 primary_culture=greek religion=orthodox technology_group=eastern capital=118 1391.2.16=
It seems to be saying that bryzantine is already orthodox, although in-game and the loading screen shows them sunni. [editline]21st February 2011[/editline] Nevermind, got it :dance: [editline]21st February 2011[/editline] Here's a world map view for the help:
Holy shit, is that Korea tearing up Ming China? [editline]21st February 2011[/editline] Or... France?
Is there any way AT ALL to stop France from becoming a monster before 1430? I need those fat bastards dead before i go any bigger.
Holy shit, is that Korea tearing up Ming China? [editline]21st February 2011[/editline] Or... France?
Nope, it's Korea tearing ming a new one. I'm playing france a la napoleon (United Europe here we come!). I also sponsored novrogord with several thousand ducats, and they managed to form Russia.
Declare war on everything and invade Russia in winter time, do it.
But we're bros with Russia :saddowns:
But we're bros with Russia :saddowns:
Not once they refuse to embargo Britain you're not!
Quite glad I got this game. I'm still involved in my first game as Bavaria, in which I've annexed most of the surrounding OPMs and started planning my conquest of a large power. This is by far the most rage-inspiring and amazing RTS ever.
I feel so lucky, I managed to catch Castille in the middle of a war with the puny north Iberian states in which Aragon decided to drop their alliance where I was able to easily take out their army, conquer their old states and their new ones (shaded) and then declare war on their new Leon vassal without any penalties with neighbours :) Next up: invasion of the Holy Roman Emperor of Aragon
Those flags look so damn sexy, are you playing in Divine Wind or what?
Here's my Bavarian Kingdom so far. I've managed to cut Austria in half in a rather costly war that ended with me having to pay a bunch of northern states to leave me alone. All in all it was worth it as the two provinces I took have huge tax values and it weakened Austria immensely and boosted my prestige to decent levels. Unfortunately I have a pretty bad case of monetary inflation, any ideas to alleviate that?
Wasn't keeping up with my supply limits, so my army stacks were 21k men each when the average supply limit was 38k. Suddenly 46k stack of milanese doom and my two eastern front stacks are wiped out. I had to bring in my spanish front stacks to check the milanese advance until I could pump out enough new regiments :saddowns:
I know the pain of 46k milanese stacks.

(although maybe you're luckier than I am, I dunno) Also, what exactly is your inflation?
If I recall it's hovering around 50. I assure you, I am terrible at finances as I've never played this game.
Those flags look so damn sexy, are you playing in Divine Wind or what?
Eastern Tales standalone mod, I made the Granada one myself because the default one wasn't exactly correct for the time that I was playing
If I recall it's hovering around 50. I assure you, I am terrible at finances as I've never played this game.
If you started at 1399, that isn't all that bad. It isn't measuring inflation in %, it's measuring the lost value of money since you started the game. You could get an inflation reductor chair member, but you probably know that already. Other than that, once it's up there's not much (or anything, if I remember correctly) you can do to bring it back down. You can only decrease the rate at which it grows. -- Certain missions/national decisions can decrease inflation, and I think formalizing scales/balances does too, although I'm not entirely sure. A pretty good place to check this is the wiki, but it's down right now, unfortunately. http://www.paradoxian.org/eu3wiki/Main_Page
Thanks. I had a hunch it just represented inflation over time. Almost seems like a purpose-less feature if everyone looses it at almost exactly the same rate, but whatevs.
50 isn't all that bad? 50 is absolutely terrible for the nation, no offense. I never let my inflation go above .1, and even then I am very careful. [editline]21st February 2011[/editline] also the National Bank NI will decrease inflation, as will centralized slider policies
50 isn't all that bad? 50 is absolutely terrible for the nation, no offense. I never let my inflation go above .1, and even then I am very careful. It doesn't seem so bad from 1399 to 1695, though.
My Portuguese inflation is at 19 and slowly goes up every time. Agh.
You guys need to be more careful with your inflation. The extra money may seem good in the short term, but long term it is terrible for your country and will only lead to disaster keep an eye on how much money you are minting(treasury slider) keep it below -0.0 inflation and it will start to dissipate. Don't let it get any higher than 0.10 inflation(and only let it get above 0.0 if you have national bank
Yeah, I think that I'm gonna start the Bavaria game over again using my new knowledge.
Scratch that, I formed a Teutonic Game. Anyone care to assist me in the removal of my inflation? This seems insane that even with a loss due to spending I still have such high inflation.
Played as France. Made it to 1479 before my country fell apart. I just about forced England out of the mainland but because I could not invade them, they would not give me any more territories. I started colonizing Canada in 1447. After which, my entire country started revolting, resulting in Brittany breaking away as well as Normandie.

Is it a matter of attracting a lot of them until a good one shows up, or is there an option?
How does one recruit a more or less talented advisor? It's all in the cultural tab.
That's if you're using HTTT or Divine Wind, otherwise it's luck.
