Yuss, successfully annexed Transylvania, I'm now a bit bigger and have allies in Austria (and indirectly Poland). Bohemia hates me though, as we just fought a war against them.
Austria's warmongering with Milan and the western powers, I'm thinking of pushing west through Aquilea, Venice, and eventually Naples. The other option is pushing east through the Balkans to curb the Ottomans. I'm always worried of Polish or Bohemian invasion though, so the third alternative is just sit and wait. I'm leaning towards pushing west because I need latin neighbours in order to westernize. I'll post a map in a little while, but in the meantime, any suggestions?
Depends on your infamy and troops. In case of doubt, compare troop numbers in the ledger.
I would lean more towards getting closer to the Latin tech group, after westernizing I'd try to push against the Ottomans since it should create some fun conflict lol

Also, why in eastern winds is the AI so passive? I almost always see only 1-4 wars, in the entire world, even in the 1500s

Currently 1456, after a brief war with the Austrians, they're now reduced to 2 provinces and Flanders and I helped free 2 countries from oppression in the peace treaty tables. In unrelated news, Byzantine is still alive as well. They're still clinging onto Thrace and at peace with the Ottos for now. I wonder if they can made it to the 1500s' alive?

In my game, it's 1501 and they're still... Not dead.
Barely.
So, yeah..
Am a beginner started as Castille built up some troops and invaded Granada they got crushed by my armies then all of a sudden a swarm of Granada's friends come out of nowhere with a fucking baseball bat and hit my nation around the head i stayed on Granada and prayed they would leave my army alone. Allied with Portugal and they agreed to help me in in the war. Our armies were crushed. I defeated Granada, took a region , turned them into a Vassal and realized there were enemies covering my entire country. My armies were dead and Portugal had bigger problems to deal with.
Please, i am in need of a good guide.. the tut is shit.
Right now in my game, AI BYZ is owning Rhodes, Cyprus, All of greece and Antyla (or whatever the province above Rhodes is.
They fought 4 or 5 wars against the Venetians for Naxos, but still have to get Crete back,
They beat Otto's up so now Karaman owns the usual turkish areas apart from BYZ.
Also Bulgaria is marching on Buda.
Has anyone played Europa Universialis 2 and 3? (Dumb question here but still) If so, which game is easiest to jump into and which has the most stable multiplayer? Me and a friend wish to play it together so I'm curious. Both LAN, over internet and gameranger/hamachi.

I don't think they are all that passive or at least I haven't noticed, you could just turn up the aggressiveness in the start-of-game options?

The kingdom of Hungary, along with out newly ascended FIFTEEN YEAR OLD king.
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/gdhiY.jpg[/img_thumb]
And there's Europe. It's a bit outdated, just recently I've gotten into a hellish war against Bohemia (who is Holy Roman Emperor), Holland, Milan, Genoa, and Provence - I've got Austria, Savoy, and Poland on my side but we're getting beat up pretty quickly. I actually managed to capture a Milanese province in Italy and since I needed a foothold there I refused white peace offers repeatedly, now Bohemia has a 13,000 man army in my north and a combined dutch -bohemian force of 8000 has taken Dalmatia and Croatia. This is gonna be tough.

If EU2 is anything like HoI2, which is probably is because saves can be imported, I'd suggest going with EU3 because my friends and I can only play HoI2 together through LAN at my house. We never tried Hamachi, though, but whatever.
Page 3?!?!
I've been trying to avoid declaring war for no real "reason" but the snowball affect is kicking in and I've lost all competition among Europe, the only real threat I could have is some sort of alliance between Burgundy-France-Great Britain or Song China (the only other world power)

As the Portuguese army embarks on the transport fleet to prepare war against Algiers, King Afonso V's long time dream of the crusade against the African infidels is forever shattered as he is found dead in his bed on the 17th. His son, João II, is crowned the next king of Portugal.

War with Algiers was damn costly in terms of manpower. At the brief start of the war I started out with 19k manpower. Fast forward to two years later and I had roughly ~300 left in the manpower pool. Right now that's up to about 8, 251 and getting 821 back each month, but in the end it was worth it for the nice ceding of territory. Afonso would have been proud.
Bit of a outdated comparison of before and after.

If you have Divine Wind, you can get AirotciV, a sequel to the mod. It uses Divine Wind 5.0 and the Victoria II map, with a time-frame of 5 - 2010. It also adds the Black Plague and the Distance Mod, and includes many minor changes to Divine Wind.

Thanks, I wouldn't have known about this otherwise
Oh damn that is amazing, the only thing holding me back is having to abandon my Al-Andalus game ;-;
Is that installed on top of Eastern Wind, or separately?
It's separate, so delete Eastern Tales and install AirotciV
There should be a mod that lets you start like before 756 BC, so you can play as persia and shit.
All the way up to WW2.
World history would be so fucked up.
I Googled Airotciv to find out more and got a Facebook of somebody called Victoria Airotciv. What are the chances?
I Googled Airotciv to find out more and got a Facebook of somebody called Victoria Airotciv. What are the chances?
Probably a joke, as Airotciv is Victoria spelled backwards.

Is it required that you delete Eastern Tales? I didn't see a mention of that but mine crashes on "adapting history" whenever I pick a country, both in separate locations as well
