By the way, a new beta patch is now out in the Paradox Interactive Forums
Holy shit MEIOU is the greatest mod ever, decided to try the Red Turban Rebellion (1356) as Song and then within the first six months: open rebellion against the Yuan Dynasty that lasted until mid 1368 when it finally collapsed. (Completely accurate timing too)

Now the Ming are beginning to stab me in the back, SO MUCH FUN

And i still really really want to play AirotciV my Viking Empire will go to waste other wise!
Plus after seeing AirotciV's massive timeline i do not want to go back to 400 years. :saddowns:
I'm hoping that he works the crash bug out, all the other mods are getting it too apparently which is really sad because it's just holding up DW conversions for MEIOU and WWM too

Indeed, lucky for us there patching DW and maybe we wont have these shitty CTDs. Am stuck on DW aswell, so'll i have no choice but to wait.
I actually modded my copy of Eastern Tales for MEIOU, you could give something like that a shot for HTTT goodness while they iron out the DW/Steam bugs lol
Its a real shame. I was looking for a good mod since I've played vanilla HTTT now, but they're all working on a CTD fix.
Ohh I love this game.
I remebert its simpel Al thouhg.
how i miss you bad reading rating
Aww man, airotciV still hasn't been fixed? That's a shame, my Hungary -> HRE game is just about to end and I was hoping to jump into some Roman Empire goodness...
Well he did say that he got it in one of his updates but I'm not too sure to be honest, the new patch that came out apparently did nothing for stability and only meant more problems for other DW mod teams
Hoping for the best, and until then HTTT! lol

Is there any ANY way to play HTTT with its mods or am i trapped on DW. Steam aswell.
Looks like every large conversion mod for DW is running into the same crashing problems, sure hope they fix it soon..
A pretty big bump, but I've got a pretty big issue here - playing as Russia, I got myself into a war where fujiwara (a japanese daimyo) is the leader. Since you can't negotiate with daimyos, am I stuck at war with them for the remainder of the game? Are there any console commands or .txts I could edit to change this?
[editline]22nd April 2011[/editline]
Also, "Japan" itself not at war with me, and in fact holds only one province in Kyoto. If I declare war on the (-2 stability) will they then be the head of the alliance and I'll be able to make peace with them, or will that count as a separate war?

Try declaring war and see if it starts a new war/continues the other. If it starts a new, load.
Well, I figured it out - declaring war on Japan got them to be the new alliance leader, and then I could make peace. I managed to finish the game! I'll get some screenshots up shortly
NEVERMIND, Mango got it and I didn't refresh
Did you start your Russia game pre-unification?
I was playing with the mod "Terra Universalis". This mod removes all the wasteland from the map and adds a bunch of new provinces in their place, as well as totally new provinces in the pacific ocean. However, a strange bug happened in my game (probably because I installed the 5.1b version of the mod onto my 5.0b game) - there was no restrictions on colonizing range (which explains my colony in bermuda, as well as weird shit like prussia and persia in the east indies)
A map of the world:

The mod also adds a ton of indigenous tribes into the new areas, with the "remote tribe" government type, indentical essentially to the hordes of the steppes, this makes it really difficult early in the game for colonization to occur. Before European arrival, the Creek tribe controlled all of north america (eventually collapsings on itself) and mali and mutapa split the african continent, again collapsing as a result of european intervention.
I started as Muscovy, and actually failed the first time I tried. The second time I immediately conceded defeat to the golden horde and worked around annexing the russian minors, suing for peace as soon as I could every time the mongols came back around. Eventually (after fighting two wars) I vassalized and annexed Novgorod. After fighting a long (and really exhausting) war against Poland - Lithuania, I got the last province I needed and formed Russia (this was around 1500)! Then began a long period of eastward expansion, fighting against indigenous tribes and pushing to the east. Eventually I diplo-annexed Sibir and Kazakh, sometime in 1600-1700, and I haven't expanded much in the old world since then. Most of my efforts in the second half of the game were producing Russian Hegemony in north america - GB got a headstart in alaska, but I started up a colony in Baja and spread out in all directions from there. Fighting the hordes was really tough, I'd really expect them to be nerfed in future versions of the mod. Here's some more map screenshots:
Mother Russia:

The fucked up new world (Canada and the US seem to have traded places):

Surprisingly, Brazil, the UPCA, Chile, and Paraguay actually formed in their (more or less) historical locations, not so much for the rest of the area:

Africa is really fucked up, there's a ton of wars and rebellions going on with local tribes revolting from the formerly massive Mali and Mutapa. Mali is still pretty huge but was being eaten up at the time of the game's end.[img][/img]

Finally, the east indies: Just general weirdness around here:

Now, I forgot to take a screenshot of Europe, but there also are some irregularities (as you might be able to tell from the world map)
-Spain, Galacia, Navarra, Barcelona, and Aragon all exist. Barcelona is quite large and extends into France
- France itself is divided between Britanny, Berry, Bar (who is actually quite powerful and was HRE for a time).
-Great Britain formed, but Scotland revolted about a hundred years after
-Ireland formed (as a result of my actions, I was allied with GB in a war against Connaught, who had occupied the island, as alliance leader, I just ceded them all of GB's territory there and they formed Ireland). Leinster revolted sometime down the road, though.
-Bulgaria is Holy Roman Emperor
-Ferrara and Venice have moved their capitals to Africa and South America respectively
It was a fun game, but I'm a bit burned out on EU 3 and am currently learning how to play Vicky 2.

fucking media tags, how do they work
I've never actually done one full play through of this game :v:
Terra Universalis seems like an awesome mod, trying it out.
I tried to install TU 5.0 to my same version of DW and it messed all the provinces up, am I supposed to be using 5.1b instead or something..?
Nevermind, fixed that up but now all my flags are missing arggh

Who is that in Haiti?
Looks like Prussia to me, your game seriously has the most unique colonization I've ever seen

Too bad that mod crashes my game! I updated to the latest patch thinking that would fix but now am truly fucked mod wise and now very little can used lol.
If you have not noticed yet i do not have much luck with this series.
Who is that in Haiti?
Yep, it's Prussia :v:
Has anyone else ever had a save randomly cause EU3 to crash? For some reason my Netherlands game is always crashing if I even click on it let alone playing it.
Yep, I've had that. Delete it and use an autosave.
Yep, it's Prussia :v:
You have one fucked up save lol.
how does one increase manpower?
I've edited the savegames so there's more manpower in provinces, but I guess I didn't do it right or something
Just use the console, one of the event codes in here adds some manpower

Okay so I'm playing as Denmark from 1350, Eastern Tales mod, eventually England goes mad, allies with Burgundy and takes over France. Then they decide to attack Scotland, but Scotland has pretty much pushed them right out of their land and Provence has pushed them right out of France. I'm going to teach history to my kids with this game.
