Haha holy shit I can't believe I just got my ass kicked by the easiest Paradox game. I've always liked the challenge they offer, but I've never actually lost a game until now.
I decided to play as the Inca empire (Whole World mod) and they start as the regional power with a bunch of smaller, though strong states around them.
Anyway I'm going about my business punching them in the face one by one. The first country I annexed was Quezhawhateverthefuck. Now their only province had always been problematic for rebels, once every couple of years a so, bit of a pain in the arse but nothing major.
Now my ruler was shitty, he actually had a trait "useless ruler" or something along those lines, shit on my tax income, boosted up revolt risk and was basically a useless cunt. So I was really happy when he upped and died. Except it triggered an event where a few rebel factions fight for the crown. This'd be OK normally, except there were 3 times more rebels than there were my troops. Naturally I get eviscerated.
I'm left with two provinces, and few troops. Guess who got my entire empire? Quezhawhasdhasdhpa did. They then decide to get revenge, DoW me, push my shit in with 20,000 troops then make me a one province vassal of theirs. Oh and they took my money.
I was actually pretty annoyed, I made my money taking over single province minors. Then the remnants of a single province minor inherit my entire empire and rape me hard.
Getting this game in a couple of days..A new expansion just came out, Divine Wind.
Playing as the Portuguese in HTTT and it's frankly hard to maintain a stable economy. And the fact my Anglo and Castille allies are constantly dragging me into their bloody wars, especally the Spanish, doesn't make things any better either. Not to mention Morocco are a pain in the ass, keep funding rebels on my lands that are always seemingly bigger stacks than my own army. :v:
Would be nice if the battle system wasn't a shitty dice roll system and a decent one like HoI3.

Karma bit you hard.
Anyways, I love this game. I love playing as Muscowy and waiting for the Golden Horde to fall apart, and then taking all of their (former) shit.
Got really far with Austria, had most of Central Europe reunited under the Holy Roman Empire. Still can't conquer the damn Turks yet, so I just feed them gifts and hope they won't attack me. I declared war on France since they were one of the last bastions of Christianity (I was protestant or reformed, can't remember, and I forced Castille, who had recently conquered Aragon to convert through war) but large revolts in my empire forced me to cease and desist.

No fucking way. WHOLE WORLD MAP MOD? RE DLING.
And its fucking dumb that it has the chase back in forth armies in IN. I don't want to buy another expansion just to fix that shitty defeat an army then run to another square x100000.

Don't know what to do now now that my current war with Morocco is pretty much over. I was thinking of DoW'ing Sicily so I can complete the Italian mission I had for the past 20 years or so, or colonize Bermuda or Newfoundland which I could possibly use as a base for further colonizing, but I definitely can't do both.
You guys should try Magna Mundi Ultimate or Platinum, it's one of the most realistic mods I've seen, but it's hard as fuck. You need to play some games without the goal of winning just to understand the basics, and let me tell ya, if you play some strong power like Muscowy, Spain, France, England, Austria, or the Ottoman Empire, even though it's really realistic, it's just too hard to keep up with their historical expansion and rise to power.
Kicking ass as Scandinavia now, invading England and France is my best friend.
German states declare war and I make them my vassals. Invaded Scotland after they took Danish islands I wanted and made them my vassal.
It sucks when you got the best mission ever to conquer a province you want and it crashes.
I recommend Civilization Universalis as it is freaking awesome.
I kinda preferred Europa Universalis 2 to this game. This game is alright and all but the music is kinda shit compared to the previous game, so I deleted all the music from this one and put in the music from EU2.
Updated OP with descriptions of Heir to the Throne and Divine Wind. Also you guys should keep a close look to this mod: http://air.000space.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=5 since it has a 5-2100 AD time period.
Looks good. I wonder how it'll handle the period immediately after the collapse of the Roman empire in Europe though. Not sure how good EUIII is at simulating the migration of a people and the resulting nomadic incursions into a country. I know it's pretty good for just nomadic raiders, but full fledged invasions I have not seen.

There's two versions, though here are the links:

2095 years Jesus christ I thought 1399 to 1822 was good enough.
Haven't tried any mods for this before so I downloaded Hurricane but I'm not getting any sound with it, I threw the Eastern Wind folder into EU3\Mods, was I supposed to do something else?
I love this game, Anyone wanna post their steam friends so that I can add you. Imagine the fun we can have with everyone here joining up into one single game :buddy:

I think it's supposed to be standalone, not thrown into the mods folder, so when you install it, it should be installed under Program Files.

It's fun trying to break up France without direct intervention.

You're right with that, I realized that too and I tried it but turns out that wasn't the problem. I just solved it a second ago because for no apparent reason I didn't check the Audio options, turns out the master volume was at 0 and when I changed that I got an earful of some sort of pop music. Thanks though!
This game's really addicting and fun, especially with all the expansions (which I have), but it's really annoying that the AI is extremely overpowered. It's impossible to win a fair fight with those fucking dice rolls always giving the AI 9s and me 1s or 0s.
Hotfix for Eastern Tales:
Extract this to: Eastern Tales\common
Download the file from http://www.filefront.com/17724738/defines.txt
This fixes the bug for that when someone annexes a country, the infamy is 10,000 instead of 8.
I just saw the awesome deal on Steam. Is this game hard to get into compared to HoI2?
It's just that I don't want to spend tons of hours figuring out the game.

It's very, very easy, it's not as complex as HOI2.

I guess it's harder than the strategical parts of the Total War Series, but I will give it a try. Which Europa Universalis should I buy?
Three.
