I know you've probably been hearing this a lot etc but I'm still pretty new to this, just completed my first full game. I'm thinking about using a mod, I'd preferably like something that includes the whole world and extends the timeline, both directions. I was looking at Civilization Universalis, is it a good choice or is there a better mod for what I want?

I'm pretty sure the majority of people here are like you, considering that I have many hours on this game but have never completed it even once, you're probably more experienced.
Well I don't think bankruptcy, being buttfucked by the Holy Roman Empire, England and Portugal really counts as "completed".
I just bought the complete pack and meant to buy chronicles :saddowns: sent a steam support question in to see if i can get refunded to buy chronicles
I hope they let you, since they can just refund in your Steam wallet which means you'll have to spend it on games anyway
This game runs so slow on my computer its fucking unplayable.
Is there a way to tweak performance through config files or something? The sea effects are annoying, too. :ohdear:

Well from what I've heard they've recently been refunding to the wallet so yeah
God dammit, how is my game slowing down so fast? Yearly saves take like 5 minutes, while loading up a save can take upwards of 20 or so, and I'm only in 1540.

Are your saves bloated by the achievements? Are you connected to that paradox online thingy when you play?

Well it's the steam version of Divine Wind so I'm not sure if there'd be achievements, and I'm pretty sure I'm not connected to Paradox Online.
Where can I download the manual? Trying to DL it from the steam store page doesn't work

What the Christ are you on about? The game has a beautiful soundtrack for me.
Music & Ambient at max, can't hear shit.
Check your game folders to see if the music files are even in your game.
The EU3 5.0 patch has a lot of bugs from what I can tell. The sound might just be one for some of the people.
I fixed the black national flags issue I was having earlier, but now I have an issue with province borders and map movement/sight. Back to the Paradox Forums again.
I don't feel like buying Divine Wind but the new map is so sexy. Also, I'm playing as Castille and want to form the Spanish nation but Aragon is making it a pain in the ass, the only way for me to get Valencia would be to completely destroy them but that's a pain in the ass because half of the kingdom is in Italy.

Might take multiple wars, but forcing them to release vassals is one of the ways I beat them through war. Another would be to secure a royal marriage and hope their heir dies so you can just focus on the New World.
Alright, so I am currently playing as naples, but my upward expansion has been halted due to a buttfuck huge austria up north as emperor, and all of the northern italian states being HRE members.
I have annexed the papal state and urbino but that is all.

Oh how I know that feeling. I'm currently playing a Holland->Netherlands game. The issue isn't expanding because I have the Nationalism casus belli, my problem is that every time I conquer a province the HRE demands I give it to them. I've lost about 8 stability over 20 years from their demands and it is really a big pain. Luckily my prestige is holding around 40ush to keep some sense of order.
Why not just vassalize the small countries instead of annexing them? I know it isnt the preffered course of action, but atleasy you dont have to give anything back or take the stability hits.
Couldn't you also fabricate claims before going to war with them so you have cores and the territory is rightfully yours?
