DoW Austria and break up the HRE.
[editline]2nd July 2011[/editline]
Yeah that'll work
yep i will just break up the hre as naples, with only 3 OPM vassals
sounds smart
Why not just vassalize the small countries instead of annexing them? I know it isnt the preffered course of action, but atleasy you dont have to give anything back or take the stability hits.
True, but I got all the mainland of the Netherlands I need now so I'll just sit with my -2 stab until I can take on England, which somehow fractured into Wales, Cornwall and lost Ireland.
Couldn't you also fabricate claims before going to war with them so you have cores and the territory is rightfully yours?
I did that for Utrecht, but now I don't have any problems with the HRE anymore since they've already claimed every province they could attempt to. I wish denying them my provinces would ruin my relationship with them so I could leave the HRE without spending diplomats to insult them multiple times.
I got my Burgandy game to be stretching all the way from england down right next to italy.
Life is good, I'm being a big bully and France is destroyed and I'm looking into enroaching into the middle of Europe.

Man, Burgundy is the biggest douche in Europe, how can you stand playing as them? No matter which European nation I'm playing as, Burgundy always finds a way to mess up my shit.
'Sup, Earth. It's just me- the Holy Roman Empire. Being all Holy and Roman and Imperial and German.

I smell ~cash.
Just lost 3 times as Castille, first due to being too slow to reach america and ragequitting, second from economic collapse and the invasion of scotland, england and poland, third from invasion from aragon, portugal, morroco, algiers, tunisia, scotland and england in fucking 1401

cascading alliances ahoy!
surprisingly my only ally milan was happy to join the war but i'd probably not see a single ship from those cunts so i left

You shouldn't of done that.
They loved you and wanted you as their ally :smith:.

The ally AI in EU3 is very good. Even countries like norway send all their soldiers to help me in my fight, just clear a landing for them.
How do i colonize America? Apparently I need to get a ridiculous amount of navy tech to increase my colonization range by an insignificant amount and i need to wait fucking years for ports to become cores before they are allowed to be used for colonization

Yeah, the easiest way is to colonize The Azores first, and get Quest For the New World in conjunction with it. You won't need to spend too much on naval tech with this route.
Another alternative is to just get Quest for the New World and use it to find the Aztecs/Mayans. Then drop Quest for the New World, take the -3 stability hit, pick up Deus Vult (Unam Sanctum for post IN) idea and conquer them both. Epic riches ensues.

Either take azores => bermuda and work from there, or you can also go with iceland => that one province in greenland. If somebody else takes them, you just need to make sure they have cores on the route and need a right of way through their territory so your colonists can go through, and it will still work, I think.
So as Portugal. I quickly start by making an alliance with Aragon and Castille then start a crusade against Morroco (to get that Tangier place).
But by the time I make an army of around 14k man to take some provinces off Morocco. I hit the cash limit and my treasury is pretty much always red.
How do I make Ducats?
Every January 1st you get a big amount to your treasury, you're supposed to survive with that for the year
Usually it's alright to have your income negative as you'll get that year start boost
Oh, I thought I fucked up for being in the negative every month.
What would be nice is the ability to get a pause and popup when an ally calls you to arms. I tend to play on max speed with music and I don't hear the sound it plays when it comes up and it's only up for maybe 10-15 seconds before it goes. Then I end up with a renown hit.
The game could do with more popups about important events, yes
It'd be nice to have a tickbox on every event, you could choose "never pop-up when this event happens again" or something if you wished, or remove it
Uh, you can get the same thing in "message settings" from the esc menu
damnit

You can right click any event box to get a menu that lets you choose what happens if that same event pops up again.
They think of everything!
I own EUIII Complete Edition, including the original games and the expansions Napoleons Ambition and In Nomine.
Are the other expansions any good?
Divine Wind brings the asian dynasties and shit.
If you'r into that, then sure you will want it.
But pretty much all of them are tough stuff.

Also, how do I increase my yearly income?
Get a better economy and tax efficiency
