Check your save files... If some of them are over 100MB, you have a widely reported, but not unfixable problem. I don't remember *how* to fix it, but you can google for that :v:

The first time you run the game it takes a long time because it needs to build the cache folder. The next time you open it, it should open much faster.
On the topic of the cache folder, you will need to delete it after playing multiple times to reset the naval distances if they seem really off.
Man, this is crazy. I'm doing multiple playthroughs, each one is getting better. My best is Bavaria, and all though I couldn't help out EVERY SINGLE FUCKING PLACE that needed assistance when I was the HRE, I'm still doing quite well for myself, HRE or not. I was pretty pissed off though, as my old king died and his son was too young to take over. I was under a Regency Council for about 8 years and at that time I really needed to expand. I did however take Luxembourg back, which I lost to the bastards of Burgundy. Luckily, their nation has completed faltered, as well as their armies, so I plan on gaining that new land. I might make them a vassal or I might completely annex them. I haven't decided yet.
I'm always having a hard time trying to play as france and take 10 years with a maybe or lower standing when trying to force vessalage a small empire, and you auto fail the mission if you try to annex it by force.

It could be argued that DW makes Asia a heap of shit.
Factions is a terrible system and the Shogunate hardly works right, Asia was better in HTTT without any of that hampering it

I conquered a thin strip of manchu, launched an invasion against the hordes, colonized, then colonized north, then attacked Manchu while Ming was pre-occupied, then attacked Ming and basically became Asian Russia.

What's a good mod to get? I'm actually getting kind of tired of vanilla EU3 and want something new to try out, but I don't know where to begin.
I feel like a broken record but MEIOU 5.2 is my favourite and imo best mod, after that would be MiscMods because of the alternate scenarios (which someone is slowly attempting to port to MEIOU right now). I think it has the best balance between historical events and plausibility, and it just feels really professional

Magna Mundi looks pretty much the same as EU3, what are the differences?
