I hope everyone knows this by now, but you can transmit power vertically like this:

What on earth...?
That's a pretty complicated explanation. I'm uploading a video tutorial as we speak which shows a way to do this in a much simpler way.
edit:
Here we are - I made a video tutorial on how to make a button supply power for any period of time you want -

Why use your simple latch+reset design when you can make it unnecessarily complicated?
I'm a programmer. I'm naturally inclined to solve things in complicated and unintuitive ways.

I made this "Grudge" kinda hallway in Minecraft, using really simple light switch anyone can do.
Check it out, really simple.

I am also a programmer, but I take the duct tape approach of "The least amount of work to make this work the better", even if that involves awful practice :D

That looks pretty cool, especially with the texture pack. I hope you don't mind me asking, but may I join your server?

Well, the server is only my IRL friends. Maybe I can squeeze in a few people, if you want, I can host it now and we can play together.

You might want to cover the floor with single half blocks, not stacked. Mobs won't spawn on them in the darkness.

That sounds good. :buddy: I've wanted to experiment with pistons and see creations for a while now but I don't have anywhere to test anything.

I turned the mobs off, because when I was doing the first hallway, i got killed by 4 creepers.

Alrighty then, I'll PM you.
Does anyone have a download for that flat-sandstone map I've seen so many people use? Also, where do you put the map file to use it in Minecraft?

%appdata%/roaming/.minecraft/saves/
and it's not a file, it's a folder full of files

Can pistons be used to destroy a block (return it back to the state where it can be picked up into the players inventory)?
Is SMP stable enough for this update yet?

Probably not until the duplication glitch gets fixed.
Even though I love me a good TNT cannon.

Well, does it crash the server or anything? I don't care if people dupe items, it's a build server.

We have hundreds of stacks of everything right now

Thank you for that.

I was trying to do something similar yesterday, except horizontally on a wall, and having it switch between a glowstone and a normal stone.

If pistons could only push chests... this would be the best way to hide a chest ever.

could also work without block duping, as there could be pistons underneath which push the sand back
AAAAAH.
Fuck you Notjeb, and your stupid tweaks!
In the original piston mod, pulling a retracted sticky piston would pull the block stuck to the sticky piston aswell (common sense)
But in Minecraft Shittons, it doesnt. The slime glue magically detaches!
atleast theres this mod

This is the first time I tried redstone wiring and I have to say I'm proud of it, although it took alot longe-[10 HOURS]r than I expected it would
What should I put behind the door at the end?
(It's currently just an empty room)

Very nice overall use of redstone and pistons. The theme of the house fits well with the texture pack you use also.
