you gave me false hopes that it would be easy :frown:
Woops. Well, I bet you don't need half of those wires anyways. [editline]4th July 2011[/editline]
best elevator I've seen so far. But damn, my ladder takes 1 block space and this alone makes it better than this elevator.
Nice, is there a tutorial on how to do that, or even an explanation?

Could you show how you moved the button to a different area. I've just tried but it doesn't seem to work. :suicide: I'm terrible with redstone and all that so I might need just a little more help than the next guy.
Redstone is too clumsy and takes up so much room, there needs to be an alternative
Sort of like wire mod for gmod but visible
I'm having some problems making a simple piston thing
No red torch, no piston activity, perfectly normal. Red torch added, piston extends, just like I want. Button pushed, torch goes off, the piston doesn't retract. This is the problem. I break the torch, piston retracts.
Any thoughts on how to fix it? I want to keep it as simple as possible, and this looks like it should totally work.
I'm having some problems making a simple piston thing Any thoughts on how to fix it? Have you tried putting wire on top of the piston?
My creation.
Redstone is too clumsy and takes up so much room, there needs to be an alternative
Well it's far more intuitive and less clumsy than real digital microelectronics design at least...

Can someone tell me what texture pack that is?

I love you.
I saw a post similar to this earlier, but I think it's still worth posting. A friend and myself made what we're calling the modular home (even though it's not at all, it's all we could come up with) [thumb]http://imgf.tw/423908613.png[/thumb] The inside of the house [thumb]http://imgf.tw/831596126.png[/thumb] Inside the hole in the ground after pushing the lever [thumb]http://imgf.tw/981444395.png[/thumb] What happens to the rest of the house [thumb]http://imgf.tw/820266258.png[/thumb] The lever on the inside that can disable the lever at the top [thumb]http://imgf.tw/541658241.png[/thumb] The wall opposite of the lever [thumb]http://imgf.tw/174281910.png[/thumb] The wall opposite of the lever, after being closed [thumb]http://imgf.tw/675306510.png[/thumb] Downstairs from the previous lever, unlocked [thumb]http://imgf.tw/930371964.png[/thumb] Downstairs from the previous lever, locked [thumb]http://imgf.tw/283801879.png[/thumb] [thumb]http://imgf.tw/569926459.png[/thumb] Temporary light switch, but I want to use this (yes, I know it was posted just recently, that's how I found it) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUmzonpmlp8 I'm sure if someone that actually knew what they were doing found a way to put pistons into an actual house, we could see some really cool stuff.
okay so I didn't need the RS NOR gate or whatever but I was messing around with it. Anyways this was fun to make
I'm sure if someone that actually knew what they were doing found a way to put pistons into an actual house, we could see some really cool stuff.
I'm working on it as we speak. So far I've got a secret entrance through a nearby cave, a bookcase doorway which is the actual entrance into the house from the cave entrance, a working floor light in front of the TV (Gotta dim the lights for movies), a bar table that slides out of the way, allowing you to get behind the counter, and a working shower. All without any unsightly redstone bugging out.
Cave entrance. A button goes in that little alcove. When pressed, the secret door opens, and the button is washed away by water, leaving no evidence. Bookcase door. Serves as an entrance into the home from the secret cave. TV area floor light. Press the button and dim the lights. Bar. Press the button and the log next to it retracts, letting you get behind the counter. Bathroom. Flip the switch to turn the shower on/off.
Minus the secret cave door and building the shell of the first floor, it only took about an hour to get it done. I just need to finish furnishing the first floor and I'll get started on the next one. I appreciate ideas greatly.
What has science done!? Kiershar has done it again.
My creation.
I made this several days ago but only posted it now. I love you Zesty.

That appears if you're in offline mode as well.
you gave me false hopes that it would be easy :frown:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAitcBKk2HI Here's an easy tutorial [editline]5th July 2011[/editline]
Could you show how you moved the button to a different area. I've just tried but it doesn't seem to work. :suicide: I'm terrible with redstone and all that so I might need just a little more help than the next guy.
Sure (though it wasn't my video): Default design:

To move the button firstly cover the block which had the button with redstone. It will allow you to move your anywhere.

And that's how it was in the video

Not mine, but still neat:
It clones the TNT, so you only need one block of TNT for it.
How does it clone with only 1 piston then?
Second day of redstone learnings.
How does it clone with only 1 piston then?
Because it's igniting the tnt as the piston moves the block back, thus, duplicating the block.
Notch needs to make redstone more simple.... its hard to hide the redstone and stuff. I made a very simple little door in the ground and i had to make holes in my house :c
Notch needs to make redstone more simple.... its hard to hide the redstone and stuff. I made a very simple little door in the ground and i had to make holes in my house :c
I honestly kind of like the challenge. It adds a sense of accomplishment when you get a contraption to work and look good.
I finally figured out how to make one of those secret doors, two high. Took me some time to figure the redstone paths out but when it worked - such satisfaction! Very simple one too, I can't imagine the two by four door being any harder, just twice as big and more compact. I'll show how I made it if it's requested but right now I can't be bothered to upload more screenshot's. :v: Edit: Alright. The third image with the pistons facing against the wall is the doorway (media tags aren't working).
I honestly kind of like the challenge. It adds a sense of accomplishment when you get a contraption to work and look good.
Except it doesn't work with treehouses.
Repost since I didn't get an answer earlier. Does anyone have a download link to the flat sandstone map I've seen so many people using for their piston stuff?
I always imagined the perfect redstone system as some sort of virtual grid where you could just connect anything you want. All you'd need would be transmiter block which looks basically like a chest with a map.
