If it goes up or down more than 1 block.
I am afraid it is only 1 block.
I am afraid it is only 1 block.
Then what's so special about it?
Figuring out how to do that without any help and in 3 different methods of piston movement.
Then what's so special about it?
Try wiring one of those up yourself Its not as easy as you'd think
A quick little concept I made and tested for an elevator:
Loved the Sims music. :v: Also, instead of having every individual piston move, wouldn't it be possible to make a piston elevator work like a vertical conveyor belt?
I made a trap. Players think they are about to go on an adventure on an SMP server but in reality they just fall into lava. *First stage is just TNT. Next stage is piston work* It is EXTREMELY basic redstone wiring but I am really new to it so its good for me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPQrPBC4AXo&feature=player_embedded It was so funny, later on I was down there carving out a view room so I could see people burn and saw 3 people fall in with amazing reactions.
Try wiring one of those up yourself Its not as easy as you'd think
Piston Block Redstone torch I used the exact same technique for my 4x2 horizontal door with built in stairs.
I've got an annoying problem which is probably super easy to solve but is pissing me off to no end. I'm trying to create a sticky piston that pushes another sticky piston that's holding a wood block. Wood sPiston2 sPiston1 I can get the timing right so sPiston2 retracts with the wood and sPiston1 retracts after that but then the wood is left floating in the air until both pistons are extended again. The problem happens in mu ha ha's video but I don't understand how he solves it. Alright, even people think it is not that special I post it anyways.
Piston Block Redstone torch I used the exact same technique for my 4x2 horizontal door with built in stairs.
Ok, but how do you turn off all of the torches in the grid? That's the hard part.
We want a tutorial :v:

As far as I know what you're trying to do is impossible. I tried for almost an hour to make a sticky piston pull back a sticky piston and the block that was attached, but the problem is that a sticky piston can only pull one block, and it doesn't recognize that the block being pulled is a sticky piston that has a block attached to it.
Ok, but how do you turn off all of the torches in the grid? That's the hard part.
Power outside edge blocks with repeaters, go 1 row inside and lower, power those etc. Basically a upsidedown piramid.
Power outside edge blocks with repeaters, go 1 row inside and lower, power those etc. Basically a upsidedown piramid.
Yes, but that's quite complex to actually wire up. What he did was pretty cool.

I made this nether portal thing with water, water kills portals. [thumb]http://gyazo.com/e3c31507368522afc6fc5f862d54fcf4.png[/thumb] The wood is always there(actually i now just noticed, you need to retract it with pistons or it will burn out, slowly but will) [thumb]http://gyazo.com/eff2ebbb8178a3a15e1f33c3ffd839de.png[/thumb] A bit after it will burn and turn on the portal, it can't stay on long or the wood will burn out, but you have enough time to go in the nether [thumb]http://gyazo.com/e9fd27649d45f10e8327042944357ca6.png[/thumb] And then you turn it off and leave it off or the wood will burn [thumb]http://gyazo.com/cf78f0bc1b0df9d1f12b1bd005d6f187.png[/thumb]

this was a learning experience, the timer thing I could NOT figure out how to get them to go on / off in that order, so I toyed around. I vaguely remember seeing the timer thing in another video though
Made a self building, self repairing bridge.
Mines bigger. :smug:
Loved the Sims music. :v: Also, instead of having every individual piston move, wouldn't it be possible to make a piston elevator work like a vertical conveyor belt?
Yeah, it would. I just had this idea really quickly and thought it would be fun to make it spiral up. It would definitely be much more efficient to make one in such other manner, however.
Mines bigger. :smug:
You just gave me an idea to have it build from the other side as well :D
i wanted to do a 6x6 door but then I realized it's probably impossible to do that and still have room for all the wiring not to show everywhere behind the door if pistons could push things like redstone without popping them up you could devise an insanely elaborate thing to handle that, though so here, have this instead: 2 pistons and a block how to: also invert the signal on the #2, delay it with repeaters images of sequencer: overview: when a sequencer turns on, output 1 turns on first then after a delay output 2 turns on(and etc if you have it built for more outputs). when you turn it off, output 2 loses power first and then output 1. there's a thread here somewhere with a how-to video, but those images are enough. so you might have a three block wide hallway, where a seemingly normal wall suddenly extends two blocks outwards pushing you onto the right-most block, which retracts to drop the player or npc into lava.
