Basically, I have a door that I would like a warning light for on the control panel. When I push the door open button, the light turns on immediately, because I split the signal. However, only about half a second after the door closes, the light turns off. If I use diodes to keep the signal going, then the light takes about 2 seconds to turn on after the door closes.
So what exactly do you want to happen though? I'd rather know that so then I could see how I would try to wire it.
How does it work like if the redstone doesn't even touch the pistons?
Torch powers the lower piston and powers the block above it, which powers the top piston.
Button--->open door Door redstone wire--->warning light warning light goes on as soon as possible after button, but stays on for a few seconds.
here's a way to extend a signal on the right side thats cut off of the image on the rightmost block, there is a button ignore the top left block closest to the repeaters both trails on the lower right of the image are outputs more repeater delays, longer signal the block on the top left closest to the repeaters has a button on the far side you can't see, which can abort the button signal to end it early
I'm so glad pistons were added. It's the thing that pushed me over the edge and convinced me to learn redstone. Back in the day I was a redstone retard, now I am a redstone GOD.
Guys. what's the simplest and most compact way to make a NOT gate? I'm trying to make a button on a pedestal in the centre of a hall that when pressed drops the user into a pit of lava, basically the inverse of the door that was in the first piston video. What I need is one set of pistons to be extended whilst the button is not pressed, but to retract when the button is pressed, whilst the others extend and pull them (and the floor blocks) back into the walls of the pit to allow the user to fall. It's getting one set of pistons to be extended and to collapse when the button is pressed that is bothering me - whilst it's rigged to the same button
god... pistons seem like gmods wire addon for me. looks pretty when done by experts looks shitty when done by me :saddowns:
Place redstone torch on side of a block and then power that block.
That's what I've been doing, following the (fairly useless) diagram on the minecraft wiki - However, it doesn't change state when my input goes in. So it starts off inputting a 0 and getting a 1 out, but when I change the input to a 1, the output remains 1 (or on) Edit: And that's because the diagram on Minecraft wiki is wrong, I've got it working now, cheers
I finally figured out how to make that hidden door thing from the original 1.7 piston video: It's probably more complex and bigger than it needs to be and not as easily hideable, but I figured it out on my own.
I don't know if I'm just looking at it wrong, but as far as I can tell that isn't the same as Jeb's door. When it's open, the 4 dirt blocks making up the actual door are supposed to be flush with the doorframe, with that design you'd have pistons showing through your walls. To fix it, you need to have the 2x2 piston squares on the SIDES of the door, and the 1x2 pistons behind the blocks that act as the door, so they get pushed FORWARDS instead of sideways. Hopefully that made some sort of sense, if it didn't I'll make an example and screenshot it for you to show where the pistons should be placed :)
can we crush blocks with pistons? like.. if the sticky had iron or somesuch and it was pushing sand?

So I made fancy lights that uses a sticky piston to remove a block and then swap it with glowstone. I got it to work in the floor and ceiling, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it in a wall. Anyone have any schematics? [editline]18th July 2011[/editline] And how can I use pistons to destroy a block? I have a 'data tape' and when I overwrite the bit I need to get rid of the old one.
I spent the better part of this morning actually making a piston setup, trying to do the 'mojang door' and failing, then just turning it into a multi stage door with layers activated at different times. Was a fun learning experience. Problem is, I got cocky at the end and decided to make a trap that used pistons and lava inside the test building, so I can show my friend and laugh as they activate the lever labeled 'do not touch'. Only problem I didn't forsee was holding the lava on top of the test fort; for you see, I made the whole thing out of cloth blocks because I liked having gray and red when I was making the doors earlier. You can see where lava and cloth don't mix too well

Hey guys, can you reccomend a trap that will kill someone but leave their items intact. This is a trap meant for people, so it has to be quick at killing them, before they can react and get themselves out of it.
I would have to say fall damage trap.

LucidPack with Pistons? Is it part of the original LucidPack or a fan-made fix?
