Back in Creative, I built a underwater house out of glass using sponges... Days of the infinite water right. So when I went to build a fireplace, I managed to burn my house down (had a wooden floor)... underwater. :v:

if anyone remembers when I first started playing (on Venn's server), the first thing I ever created was a HUGE underground complex that used hidden sponges to direct the flow of water into looking like open, free-flowing waterfalls and fountains and such. Had an entranceway with a channel running down the middle, down tiers of stairs. Used dark gray bricks for everything with a colored accent stripe running along all of the walls, each color changing as you went to a new area. The very bottom of my map was a catacomb sewer kinda place, really intricate look to the pillars given the scale.
if a single sponge was removed at the top, I had a SHITton of cleaning to do.

I mean redstone is slightly more abundant but I guess you'd just have to see what you care more about.
Speed of machine or gathering resources time.
It only seems to make sense to me if you don't have the gold for repeaters.

That's a pretty good setup, but it gets nowhere near the speed of the other one.
Speaking of which, I built myself a copy of the track in the video I posted earlier. It works great!

This is my fountain I have on our server, and as of right now I can turn on and off the waterstream. Whhat I really want is for it to be a secret entrance, but I have a hard time deciding how I should do it. Do you think it would be best to just go for a 2x2 vertical door?

I saw a video describing it but it didn't really explain it that well so I had to re engineer it, and it's useful for animating between frames because of this:

I paused at six minutes to see how long it was, then realized I have no job and no girlfriend.
