The only gate I ever looked up and used is the AND-gate.
I just make up everything I use on my own.
For instance, if I want to make it so that you can open it on both sides, I just make a path from the outside lever's redstone to go to the same place as where the inside lever starts.
Then the input from the lever will always be on until you turn off the first one again so turning on the other lever would do nothing, so using an XOR gate is better.
How do you stand using Mouse Smoothing for default play? :v:
I thought the locking chest was neat though.
The thing that kept bugging me through the whole video was the view bobbing being off, it just looks so... wrong.

Not really. I just typed lever instead of button, but I always use buttons and that one gate with two inverters that create a switch, and then with a longer time on them.
Was going to show a simple 2 piston minecart door, but got distracted...

Also, stolen joke.

I think the point of his device is a fake wall in front of the cart that pulls away at the last second, but since it's just for show here it's looped around.
Made a very secret puzzle door.
It's only simple but it's p. cool.

For some inexplicable reason I want to dub the lego racers theme tune over that.

I watched this, and played that song in the background. It was sweet.

Turns out that this clock actually does require manual reset on certain conditions (map saving and closing while the piston is retracting or being retracted). However, it still works fine if the chunk is unloaded, or if the player sleeps through the night.
I think. I'm going to do even more testing, because if I didn't catch the above before, I might have missed something else.

How does that work? The torch should be burning out, but it's not even on at all.

I've no idea. I just stumbled upon it while messing around with redstone.
Actually, it's probably a bug in itself, considering it only works if not facing north or south.
Ok so since we're kinda on the topic of really fast redstone have this:

Just tried that and it works.
I don't even.

Redstone is weird. Sometimes you seem to have to power something from two different sources to get it to work.
For instance, I have to power both blocks next to a powered rail to get it to actually power the rail.
I could probably take some screenshots later.
2 simple tutorials i forgot to share.
Neither of the designs are not made by me. I only made the videos.

You only need one sticky piston for that block switcher though. The two on the side can just be regular ones.
Even faster: http://screencast.com/t/AyuecUO8llC9
Errr... No. That's the same speed, and also not stable; if you exit the game, sleep, or unload the chunk, there is a chance that it will freeze.
[editline]a[/editline]
At least, I think it's the same speed. I'll test it now.
[editline]b[/editline]
Actually, it seems that the method shown in your video is about twice as fast. But, like I said, unstable, etc.
[editline]c[/editline]
Oh, I also found this gem tucked away on the Minecraft wiki. It's a page with alternatives to the standard logic gates, that use pistons. Some of them are much more compact than typical gates, so it's definitely worth checking before starting on a big project.

When the door is open, can you see redstone torches?
When the door is open, can you see redstone torches?
i can see redstone repeaters and some wire and an annoying hole in the floor but it took me ages and it works god dammit
i will try to make a video when i work out how to make a video :P can anyone recommend a way of doing it?
