Anyone know how to make one Button activate a protruding staircase, then have a pressure plate deactivate it? I can't seem to get it working in the smallest space possible.
To clarify, I have what I think is a basic clock, a 3x3 square with repeaters, the signal is constantly sent from the button, meaning the stairs remain in place but I need a way for the Pressure plate to break said signal, while still being reusable.

Have the button send a pulse that constantly powers the protruding staircase, along your redstone line is a sticky piston attached to a block that can carry a redstone charge through it. Have the pressure plate send a pulse to the piston so it'll move the block that carries the pulse and it should deactivate the constantly-powered staircase before it moves back to its original location because of you stepping off the pressure plate.
I'm no redstone expert but that should be a rough idea of something that'd work.
Attach the button and pressure plate to opposite sides of an RS NOR Latch

Woo! Finally completed my first real redstone thing. Probably a simpler way of doing it, but you have to press 4 buttons in the right order quickly. It moves a block in the way of another circuit which opens the trapdoor, then you can close the door from the inside and the block gets pushed back to the start. I'm finally proud of something I've made!

I'm trying this now, should the pistons be activating? Because the leftmost one activates, pushes the cobble over, but then the door retracts again and the entire thing becomes unresponsive?
Proof of concept semi-automatic melon/pumpkin farm.

You have to manually retill the farmland when it's used up all the blocks.

So it has a sprout that sits next to tilled soil, when a melon/pumpkin grows it triggers that BUD switch which turns on the scroll mechanism that moves it to the next block. Neat-o.

How often do you need to replant the sprouts?

Sorry about bumping this, but I have devised a (hopefully) new T Flip Flop with pistons.

Also it switches states near instantly (1 or 2 ticks)

This thread always needs good content.

Nice. Happy it was of use to someone.

a few things i've made with pistons + redstone.
We've been working on an elevator on the Open Trail server:

Basically because gates can be walked right through yet pistons treat them as a full block, its rather simple to make one elevator that goes both up and down. To use it just stay to the left and hold down the walk forward button and you'll enter the elevator. It will then take you to:

Which is basically going to be a huge shopping center. You can also take the elevator back down to the ground floor rather easily. But yeah its coming along, soon we'll have an elevator to the surface!
Is that a Runescape texture pack

Can you make a video? I don't quite understand how it's working.

The seven buttons drop either sand or gravel onto the corresponding column, depending on whose turn it is. Turn is decided by which player has their turn lever turned on; if both or no levers are turned, the buttons will do nothing.

With a reset switch. The last image is of a vertical AND gate sitting in-front of many of them as used in the structure.
They are very useful because they can all run side by side.

revised design, the sand is a bit faster and the gravel is a ton faster
thought of something I can do to make the splitter better, I'll bother with that tomorrow if I still care.
Make a video please. That would be nice to see in action.
Does it detect if someone wins? If not there's your next challenge:v:
I've made a 7 seg display with pistons, and a whack a mole type of game. Pictures will come later
