What I've been doing since the 1.7 update came out:

It took a long time and a lot of thinking to get all of that circuitry to not screw itself over and not be seen in the base. I forgot to show the circuitry that raises the stairs and parts the ground at the entrance, which got extremely cluster-fucky. Anyway, it's nowhere near done yet, I may post it again if I make enough progress. I just looked through the thread and I think this is enough for now.
Holy shit that's dark. What the fuck it was no where near that dark on my computer. Ah whatever, you can see the important parts.

Something I just came up with, my first time using red stone without a tutorial
I made a little bridge thing.

I was wondering if I could have some help here since it seems like a lot of people have caught onto advance redstone techniques pretty quickly and I'm having some trouble.

I'll try to explain what's going on in these pictures as thoroughly as possible. The first one shows the left side of the opening being closed (lever in off position) and the right side of the opening being open (lever would be in on position). The second picture shows how I used an inverter to make it so when the lever is in off mode, the inverted redstone activates the pistons to push the stone block into the wall; the pistons further away and what would be considered the "right side" when facing the other side of the wall are currently in an opened position and I'm not working with them yet.
I've been trying to figure out a way of double-retracting/pushing a wall (in this case a stone block) with the same activator (a lever). Basically, I want to make it so that the same lever will be able to make this system work both ways (open the wall, then close it). However, it's obvious in these pictures that a problem will occur when trying to take the stone back into the "open" position; the repeater in the second picture in front of the two pistons has a delay in order to move to the "closed" position, so the block will first be pushed by the piston on the ground and then pushed by the piston connected to the repeater. Due to the delay, using the same lever to open the wall doesn't work since the piston on the floor activates first.
I'm not good at explaining things, hopefully somebody can understand what I'm trying to do or what I'm saying though. Is it even possible to make it so the same lever can do this kind of operation, or will I have to think of something else?
I made a light switch, a self building bridge, and a hidden staircase to my basement

oh and a lava door, it removes all the non source lava blocks and leaves a walkway and blocks the lava from falling on your head. works great against creepers and zombies but don't let skeletons near it
Why do i hear ~5 seconds of music every time this page loads? :|

Now make diamond factory :v:
The most annoying thing with redstone for me is that it's blocked by nearby blocks on bending points (when you make redstone go up or down). It makes placing buttons and levers a pain in the ass. Halfblocks don't block the signal but it's not always a good solution :smith:
Anyway here's what I did today:

Sliding door with xor gate so it can be closed/opened from both sides.

It's a redstone sequencer, perfect for pistons.
Sorry if I'm late.

This is my failed attempt at connecting a ton of sticky pistons so it would make sort of an elevator to another room. It's hard to explain, but all of the sticky pistons would go retract each other so it would go down enough spaces to reach a secret room. Sorry if I am not explaining it well enough, but does anyone know how this could work? I just started using redstone so it is very confusing to me.
Notch really needs to make a block that can carry a redstone current. It's obnoxiously difficult to make something that's well hidden inside of a home, because of Redstone needing to be in contact with the trigger.

I thought the repeaters had a mode where they acted as a straight wire?
that still requires you to make a space for it. Its not like a dirt block that acts like redstone.

I wouldn't mind a special redstone block similar to the repeater that when given a signal toggles itself, rather than those gigantic toggle gates.

stole the idea from the 1.7 trailer and made my nickname :>

i'm pretty sure that for instance if you had a redstone trail leading up to a wall, anything such as a piston on the other side of that wall will still react to the redstone current, so long as it isn't glass
[editline]2nd July 2011[/editline]
that said if you just have more redstone path on the other side of that will the current will not continue but by that point theres no reason to not just use a repeater

I think I'll wait for them to iron things out before I build anything complex, afterall the fix could break anything I make.

As long as you don't exploit the bugs it will probably be fine.
Right, made a little mob trap using pistons. The top floor has pistons on the roof, so you can open the roof and change the mobs spawing there from enemy to friendly mobs. (obviously the grass still needs to grow.)
