Wow, one of the only two active servers is an eGo server. I got perma'd from all of their servers for "racism."
Ther are not really any specific active servers. People join in on other people. Wasn't once that we migrated from one server to a different one because most of the players had bad ping.
Wow, I like this more than I thought I would. I'm just surprised there aren't more servers up, when I played there was one full server and another with a few people in it. I'm definitely going to play this again.
This game is just so full of great moments. Once I rushed to a room full of germans, but I didn't know they were there so they pretty much got me in one shot. Thankfully, I just got knocked down. Silly germans didn't notice so I had time to bake them a nice nade.
5 germans dead.
There's always this weird little silence when you encounter an enemy.
Like this one time we were playing omahabeach and I was in the bunker with couple of other people and as I looked back I saw a US soldier running in and he just stood there and everyone watched him for a second.
Then he slaughtered everyone of us.

it's like "oh, sorry I intruded on you."
Downloading now, can't wait to try it out.

Probably because it's somewhat hard to differentiate the two teams, so I always have to inspect a target to check for either 'gray' or 'slightly dark tan' to figure out whether I should shoot or not.
In fact I believe I remember one point when I ran into a building, saw an Allied I thought was a Axis, and stood next to him firing out the window before he noticed I was there.
I remember in 1.5 I walked into a room full of Germans (I was on the Allied team). I started shooting with my Thompson, but managed to miss everyone. The enemies probably thought I was a friendly, so none of them turned around (they were busy shooting out the windows). I proceeded to throw a grenade, and that's when one of them noticed me, but before he managed to shoot, the grenade went off and he and another guy blew up. I went to prone and hid under a bed. The third German turned around, sprayed his MP40, but couldn't find me, so I reloaded my Thompson and aimed for his legs.
It was awesome :v:
Tried it out, managed to flank behind a German position where they had a machine gun up and three riflemen, I run in and bayonet a rifleman and suddenly one of my own guys shot me in the head before I could take out the machine gun.
Everyone started raging at him.

Once a someone emptied his rifle clip from 2 meters away at me. In this game it's better to stop an aim than to try and use that hip fire.
I have to play this game alone, because when I play it seriously I start yelling into my microphone while doing bum rushes at Americans
There was a full squad behind a truck and I run around screaming "SIEG HEIL" and mowing them down with an MP40. I died but I still got like 4 of them.

It was kind of stupid of you to come up on behind enemy lines on the horizon of your own guys.

Three other guys were behind me too, my team was aware we were flanking them, I just happened to be the first in. After I got shot the Germans realized were were behind them and drove off the attack.
Liking it so far, one problem I have is that the Garand's sights are somewhat hard to use.
I had the most awesome experience earlier, I can't for the life of me remember the map, but it was one where the allies have to go through a large maze-esque hedge row towards this Axis farmhouse.
Some random teammate and I took over this shed across from the farmhouse and took out almost their whole setup, then we moved inside. We single handedly cleared out the entire place, however the rest of our team seemed to be way to stupid to move up with us, and we got trapped as the other Axis members swarmed us. The two of us had a "last stand" type scenario on the top floor, we got killed by a team mate who shot us through the window though.
Found my favorite role is Axis Sharpshooter.
I'm real good at getting guys far away and the pistol is really useful in close combat.

the part where he reloads the garand just before dropping it is hilarious
Haha just had a great game on siegfriedline. I love me some night maps. Hidin' in your bushes, enemy territory. Rolling waves of americans keept on rolling right to my ironsights. Steadily shootin' them one at a time, they didn't know what the fuck was going on becouse it was dark. I even came up to a group of 5 allies chattin' it up, planning things and stabbed them to death.
And so it continued till I ran out of ammo, making every bullet count.
Then I throw away trusty rifle and run out punchin' them.
Got headshotted right away though but hell, that was awesome.
It's pretty fun but on the only populated server it was laggy as hell, and there's usually no real teamwork going on.
Depends on the map, but this mod has the most teamwork I've seen in any Source mod. Especially the Eglise map.

Someone was doing this on the server I was on earlier today. Some guy threw a smoke grenade and I could hear the screaming.
Let me tell you, there is nothing more fucking terrifying than hearing that scream. It just gets louder and louder until the guy comes charging out of the smoke at full speed.
So I just downloaded RnL for the first time today (Yes it's 1.6) and when ever I try to join a server I get an error saying "A Connection to the Steam VAC Servers could not be made" Then it gives me the steam trouble shooting link.
It says it is either my Modem, my Anti-Virus program or my firewall, my Anit-Virus program is disabled and off and so is my firewall and I don't see how it's the modem. Only thing I have basically done was delete the client registry.blob, restart steam/log out and log back in and restart my computer after disabling everything. I can't think of anything else so does anyone know how I can fix it?
I was playing with a squad of guys, and we were pretty far back behind German lines. We were talking and some axis player goes "Are you guys Germans?" and we all started saying really stereotypical German stuff, it was great.
Depends on the map, but this mod has the most teamwork I've seen in any Source mod. Especially the Eglise map.
I'm not saying there's never people working together, but those people only make up 25% of each team at most in my experience thus far.

Hah, I love doing things like this. The mic system is just great. Earlier when I was playing Allies and we were pushing towards a town filled with Germans, I went around to the back of one of the buildings and said the Americans were coming. Everybody starts screaming and two of them open the door while I stand there with a Thompson and kill about 4 guys. Good fun.
Some screens.
