Resistance and Liberation (World War II Mod for HL2) - Games

I love that effect where you get in close quarters fight with someone and you kill them and your character's heart-rate goes up and you just have this feeling vulnerability while you reload. This mod's amazing.

I like this mod, but the aiming is horrible. Ironsights are off ( I can never hit a guy from 15+ feet away with ANY gun) and the weapons stutter. It makes it unplayable for me :(

It makes it unplayable for me :([/QUOTE] Yeah, I hate the ironsights, the only time I can hit shit is when I use the Sharpshooter's rifle, since it has a nice big pair of crosshairs on it.

The ironsights are fine. Edit: Keep your weapon a bit down so you can see over the sights clearly until you see enemies. Edit2: The mouse controlling is a bit stuttery because of some weird default settings in the mouse options. IIRC set mouse smoothing or "that other thing" (can't remember right now but it was either this or smoothing which causes stutter) to 0

Sometimes dropping like a brick after getting shot in the foot saves your life, too. The realisms.. Oh god.. I think that is where that movie gets its combat choreography.

Sucks that no one really plays this during the night. There's only like 6 people that will be on.

There's been a lot more people playing in the last few days (possibly because of that Criken video a while ago) . Currently there is over 100 people on. Also cl_new_impact_effects 1 (or something similar) gives you fancy new impact effects!

Did this with a group of people on the German team. St.Mere Eglise. 5 of us pulled out or nades and ran towards the Americans. Due to the hedgehogs they could only run towards us or back the way they came. Hilarious watching 5 of us blow up almost the entire enemy team :v: One of them yelled "Heil Hitler" while running so that instantly made everything more hilarious.

Surrendering actually works in this mod. I had my gun shot out of my hands and fell on the floor dazed. And I just said "don't shoot, I surrender, I surrender!" and "I wanna see my wife and kids again, please let me live!" He told me to stay on the ground and then to speak German. Me being on the Axis made me think he was playing along. So I said "jajaja! Heil Hitler!" And then I realised he was actually German as he started speaking German. So I was like "screw this, ALLAHU AKBAR!" pulled out a grenade, pulled the pin and he killed me. I'm not sure if the blast killed him as well, but damn it was funny at the time.

You can only truly experience this mod fully if you have a mic. When you're playing the game either seriously or just mucking about. I love this so much. Yesterday I played a match where I pretty much became known as a grenade magnet because I kept accidentally getting up killed. I ended up getting autobanned for a while after about 3 hours of playing, because a frag grenade bounced back at me, I turned around to run, and a squad mate is blocking my path. RIP Sgt. Rock.
