junior member here, wmd name is also jaehead totally forgot about this, i stopped playing because i couldn't get used to the FFB on oversteer, but maybe that got fixed now
Good news everyone! http://www.wmdportal.com/projectnews/three-ginettas-to-join-project-cars/#more-1870 These Ginettas will be an incredibly important part in the career mode I would assume, because the Ginetta Juniors are commonly the next step to a young driver after karting. The Juniors are incredibly fun to drive (and I would probably be doing so professionally a year or two ago if I hadn't ditched karting due to lack of money) and hopefully they show up well in-game.
No, 31 grand gets you advertising space and development influence over anybody else. It's not meant for your average joe. [editline]13th August 2012[/editline] There was a guy on NeoGAF who bought manager when all the other members bought the equivalent of it. If you end up doing it, you should use the ad space for FP, unless you have a personal business or preference.
Garry can we work out a business deal here?
Build 282 is available for download, I made a little list of honorable mentions between 277 and 282:
New Anhalt exports New Badenring exports New Belgian Forest exports New Loire exports New Florence exports New Harrison Pike export New Milan exports New Northampton exports New Summerton exports New Eifelwald exports Several new textures for several tracks New track images for Northampton and Montery General wet weather improvements Flag support
From what I can tell from the build notes (they're too long and It's probably against some sort of rule to post them here) they've added yellow flag support in this build which is awesome. I'm not sure whether it's just there for it to be added in future builds or whether it's fully available in 282.
might seem like a silly question but how do you get out of free practice? [editline]wefwef[/editline] also how do you change the weather
might seem like a silly question but how do you get out of free practice?
on a 360 controller it's left and right triggers, I'll have a look how to do it with keyboard and mouse now [editline]17th August 2012[/editline] there's arrows either side of the blue bar at the top [editline]17th August 2012[/editline]
might seem like a silly question but how do you get out of free practice? Is there a photo mode like for Forza OR gt5?
Is there a photo mode like for Forza OR gt5?
Yeah, Ctrl+F enters free camera mode. It's good for getting a stationary camera if you want to do flybys, but if you pause by pressing P, you can also use it there. Cycling cameras is the same. And then there's the camera edit mode: Camera Edit Mode (Build 159+) To enter the mode you press Ctrl-K. Then the following keys become active: Numpad 2: increase pitch Numpad 8: decrease pitch Numpad 4: increase yaw Numpad 6: decrease yaw Numpad 7: increase radius Numpad 9: decrease radius Numpad 1: increase roll Numpad 3: decrease roll Numpad -: increase FOV Numpad +: decrease FOV D: forward A: backward W: up S: down Q: left E: right SHIFT key in combination with any of the above: slow down camera movement Numpad 5: reset to original settings for current camera Custom DOF mode: F3: on/off F4: reset Focus plane distance: F5: decrease F6: increase Sharp field depth: F7: decrease F8: increase Transit to blur depth: Shift + F7: decrease Shift + F8: increase Blur: Shift + F5: decrease Shift + F6: increase
I think you forgot to bold the Kart in the OP!

I will be playing with this. Is this like static mode or can the game keep playing. Would like to setup some cameras for a replay or something around the track and make my own little Topgear ish thingy
Is this under NDA? If not it would be great to see some videos of karting and races in the latest builds.
Is this under NDA? If not it would be great to see some videos of karting and races in the latest builds.
Nope, you can find loads of videos on Youtube about it. I might record some karting footage actually, there doesn't seem to be much of it on the net.
I've been thinking about buying this game, is it worth it if I don't have a steering wheel/whatnot?
Actually this camera mode is a huge pain the ass. It's not separated from the replay system so when I mess with stuff it makes my car move some how. I'll pick the game back up when it has a proper camera system, this is impossible to use without screwing up everything else.

Again, it is an alpha so hopefully you can expect more fixes before the final.

Just bought Team Member pack. I've been meaning to check this out for a while now looks amazing. Edit: Wow, just played it. The cars are so much fun to drive, admittedly I can't drive them too well so I stuck to that one track which is just a circle but damn do they feel good to drive.
Oh my god oh my god I can't wait to go home tomorrow and drive these
Was just able to set my ps3 controller up for the game. Makes driving even better than it was with the keyboard.
Are there any cars that arent 1000bhp that I will actually be able to get around one lap? [editline]8th September 2012[/editline] Not the caterham
the racer I4 or whatever is quite easy to drive, and the asano TDX
The Racers (Radicals) are good starters. Move up from that to the Zonda. And to get into open wheel, try out the Formula B first. Oh and the classic Caterham is a lot easier to handle than the racing spec one but they're both still completely unforgiving.
Is there a way to stop the other cars from vanishing at a certain distance?
Does anyone know if TrackIR works with this game?
Does anyone know if TrackIR works with this game?
http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/03-enhanced-games/game-cars.html It should.

I just installed the latest build and holy crap, they finally made the FFB/handling actually bearable [editline]9th September 2012[/editline] still feels quite wrong when the tail kicks out, it's like grip goes from 100% to 0% just like that
Does the download take an unnaturally long time for anyone else, or just me?
Does the download take an unnaturally long time for anyone else, or just me?
I bought it yesterday and it took maybe 4 -5 hours to complete all the downloads, I was also downloading a game on Steam so that could have slowed it down a bit as well.
