Possibly a stupid question - do you have any forced anti aliasing enabled? If so, disable it.

Well, I'm trying to run it for the first time, so I haven't tried to force anything.

I had a problem with one of my monitors like that. Changing monitors fixed the problem but I don't know why.
Try a ctrl-alt-delete and then alt tab back in. Sometimes fixes the black screen error.

Really love NS2HD's Gorge Opener vid. It's amazingly helpful for new Gorge players such as myself.

In the other news, build 180 should arrive soon. The pre-release playtesting is now ongoing.
Some of the features you might expect is an improved pathing system, so the ARCS won't be a pain in the ass for much longer.

If you are interested in the game then there is no downside to buying it now.
You directly support the developers and you activate the beta on Steam. Meaning that you will also get the full game on Steam as well.
I've had several friends ask me "what are you playing" when I'm playing NS2. Apparently its name in Steam Friends shows up as some sort of buggy error text to friends. Anyone seen this?

Are they planning to add back the abilities upgrade back?
I wish the lerk was able to cling to ceilings like bats it just seems like something they would do.
Weapons now drop on death and can be picked up.
Reworked voice chat and also, you now see a speaker icon next to player's name when they're talking (FINALLY!)
Added kill stats (might not be a good thing teamwork-wise, because it only encourages ego players who hunt for the best k/d)
Rifle melee stuns
Fade can crouch
New Alien called Cyst, which grows and manages infestation. (not a new class)
