Kopimi, will you stop ranting on how this is a 'COD clone'?
No one's forcing you to buy or enjoy the game.
I only wanted to express that I was let down by the lack of good gameplay and then have someone in this thread reply "Well actually Homefront includes cool stuff in multiplayer like this and that and blah blah blah", but instead I was flamed and rated dumb over and over again?
I'm not ranting on how this is a CoD clone, I just tried to actually discuss the subject of the thread and apparently that isn't allowed here unless you're drooling over it.
Where was the confirmation anyway about Korea being playable? All I've seen from my multiple searches have no word on Koreans.

Uh er um.
I hate to be "that guy" but the gameplay and especially the multiplayer is such a boring Call of Duty clone it almost puts me to sleep.

Unfortunately ever since I started seeing gameplay trailers and E3 demos, it became apparent to me that the gameplay would just blow.

Now that we're seeing even more gameplay and demos, it just becomes more obvious how stale the gameplay will be, and the multiplayer won't even be worth playing.

Also, to those trying to say that comparing this to CoD makes you a fanboy or something of that likeness, please just shut up. If you look at the multiplayer gameplay trailer, nearly EVERYTHING is a carbon copy of Call of Duty.
Just looking at the gameplay trailer it looks like Call of Duty with poor lighting and terrible font choices for the UI.
I really don't think Korea will be a singleplayer option.
Uh er um.
- I say it looks like a CoD clone (Not ranting).
- I said the gameplay would blow (Still not ranting).
- Multiplayer will be stale (Not ranting yet?).
- Trying to pre-emptively back up my claim that it looks like a CoD clone so people like you wouldn't bust a tit (Where's the rant).
I don't know why I'm bothering to try talking to you, you must have some kind of learning disability to keep rating dumb and spurting out useless posts. Guess I'll leave then, actual discussion of the game isnt allowed here apparently, oh well. Enjoy your shitty CoD clone hurr durr

Ironically all of those points are ranting. Don't barge into a thread on a game just to constantly harass other users for actually having interest in it. That's like walking into a bar but saying you hate alcohol and instead try to bitch about the taste and effects of it. Why bother?
I respect your opinions although I disagree, but you really don't need to do it in a thread when you're just intentionally looking to provoke an argument.
I had no intention to harass anyone, I just felt that way about the game and was hoping someone would point out good parts of the game, but instead it's turned into a shitfest that's not worth trying to recover.
It has battlepoints.
Now pls go kopimi.

Alright, the good parts? I'd say it has a well developed story. (Writer of Red Dawn should say enough), it was reported to follow the suit of HL2 gameplay, the environments are actually pretty unique and recognizable, the campaign is reported at upto 10 hours depending on how you play (long for TODAY'S standards), and it's going to have a MP counterpart for extra playability.
I'd say my only rant is just that MP looks pretty bland and the gameplay isn't bad but it's not something I'll be remembering long-term. It seems to be a game that will either be amazing or a flop.

man, you are trying to make it a real shitfest
just leave, im glad you wont be getting the game, the less dumbasses the better

Yeah the story was the main reason I was interested in the game.
The thought of America finally not being king of the world and having the fight brought to, well, the Homefront :v: was really cool. I just had a feeling it might end up being one of those games with a great concept that just never got enough funding and ended up being cheesy, you know?
I'm buying it for the singleplayer but I'm really not interested in the multiplayer at all. It seems like they tacked it on there so they could pitch it as an action packed multiplayer shooter.
Hopefully though the singleplayer campaign will be really well done, the mapping and voice acting looks and sounds really nice, plus the modeling is at least standard, which is a good sign considering some of the terrible modeling low-budget games have had to endure.

Piss off you stupid twat, were it not for you and your buddies' ignorance and hostility there would be no shitfest, so cycle your tampon and quit freaking out whenever I try and post like a decent human being.
its too bad the multiplayer is innovative and most likely more focused on than the singleplayer

Well when you're not arguing with half the thread I have to agree. I'm not a bit interested in MP myself but I'm just not a MP gamer period. I haven't seen much of SP gameplay but what I have seen varies between a cinematic experience and then bland walking down an empty hallway and firing at 2 enemies.
It could go either way for me but I'll still get it just because nothing else coming out for a while that I've had interest in. If the story is great though then the game can work either way. I got happy seeing that HL2 had some inspiration in this and who the fuck didn't like Red Dawn.
its too bad the multiplayer is innovative and most likely more focused on than the singleplayer
I fail to see how it is that much innovative from any other MP that gets released. Not necessarily saying it's bad but it seems to be just pretty straight forward and not even as polished as some of the other games following a similar gameplay design. I see the SP being able to make the game a hit though if they just give it enough attention.
its too bad the multiplayer is innovative and most likely more focused on than the singleplayer
I don't know, it seems like the game has been more pitched towards a singleplayer experience and they're really just advertising the multiplayer on the side, I really hope the singleplayer is good because thats really all I'm rooting for.

I see more of advertisement towards MP then SP but I'm rooting for SP primarily myself as well. I love a good story more then just hooking up to shoot shit. I have other games for that.
As much as I want the story to be a success, I'm leaning on the multiplayer side because in my opinion a 10 hour game isn't worth $50 by itself

Except metro 2033 :v:

Yeah actually now that I think of it, the more recent ads do seem to have been multiplayer stuff.
When I first read about Homefront in Gameinformer or PC Gamer or whichever it was, they had heavy focus on the singleplayer and then just kind of threw in "and also boasts action packed multiplayer", which is of course the usual spiel they throw in for an FPS's multiplayer gameplay. But thinking back to seeing stuff on TV about it they're always talking about the multiplayer and the resistance bonus pack and all that, I hope they're not going to forget that the most they have going for them is a fantastic story, because story generally doesn't mean much online.

Yeah really singleplayer games' prices are pretty outrageous when you think about it, I suppose they have no choice but to tack on multiplayer if they're going to charge $60.00 for it. I wish they'd charge like $30 or something for singleplayer, at least then I'd feel more comfortable with it :x
Another thing that is good about Homefront is that the devs care about their PC version and it's priced like a PC game.
Oh snap, it is only $50.00, thats jawesome.
Good god the backpedaling is so thick you could cut it with a knife
Oh snap, it is only $50.00, thats jawesome.
Yeah and with the free Metro 2033 and, although I don't play TF2 that much anymore, a Homefront bandanna for the Soldier, it's a pretty sweet deal.

Double post again.
Wow, I just realized I said "except Metro 2033," but I totally forgot it comes with the preorder. derp
I actually bought metro for $50 and thought it was worth it.... mostly
[editline]6th March 2011[/editline]
Or was it 40, i cant remember
Oh snap, it is only $50.00, thats jawesome.
pls don't buy it.

I don't know, I might actually pre-order it considering it's $50.00 for Homefront & Metro 2033.

Do it. I didn't really want to preorder it but the deal was too good to pass up and I've been meaning to get Metro 2033.
I know Operation Flashpoint: Resistance had such a feature, where you could choose early-on to assist either the insurgents or Soviets, both of which had entirely separate campaigns.
Actually choosing to side with the Soviets in the campaign [sp]ends up with you getting shot[/sp]. In the second mission if you choose to "betray the partisan", you actually get a second chance of heading to the "proper" route and not having a really short campaign.

I was on the fence about this game, free Metro 2033 is what sold me.

I never complained about your complaining, but your complete lack of a spine is disgusting. There's a difference between admitting that maybe you were being an asshole and just doing a 180 and pretending like nothing ever happened
Oh boy this thread is now apparently "Bitch&Moantfront"
Seriously? PMs exist for a reason.
