So let's ignore TizzYcho and keep talking about a game called Homefront, okay?
I was thinking, since if everyone could afford choppers, does that mean large scale airwarfare? That'd be awesome. I want to see a choppers only server, lol.
Personally I am going to be operating the scout drone the entire time.
I want to end the game going 0 kills, 0 deaths, and 400 assists :v:

I like games where I don't actually kill people but I help them by spotting people, like the UAV in BC2. It makes me feel fuzzy inside knowing I helped someone get a kill.
If only the damn spot button worked reliably on the UAV.
Since, I'm getting tired of seeing these posts, I am going to actually inform you why it isn't like MW2, Battlefield or Medal of Honor.
First off, Battle Points are different from your normal XP system. You can spend them on the fly on the battlefield which will really depend on your strategies alone as you choose to whether spend it on lesser things or save up.
Second, this combines the gameplay mechanics of both close quarters combat similar to CoD and the vehicular warfare of Battlefield. Not a lot of games have tried this formula so it is nice to see Homefront try it out.
Third, people's arguments about "HURR SAME GAMPLAYY DURR" I really can't think of anything to radically change how we play modern shooters. At least Homefront is varying strategies for modern shooters which is exemplified in the BP system and vehicles. It's rather difficult to revolutionize "Shoot guy = guy dead" gameplay which is one of the main reasons why people play modern shooters is just to see the guy die with a realistic looking gun.
I feel like its futile trying to explain Homefront but I just wanted to get that off my chest.
Anyways, looking forward to its release next week.

And MW2 on its own is a pretty good game but the unbalanced nature of the multiplayer was what ruined it. At least this is a new ip and not just another rehash like Black Ops.
yeah i dont give a fuck
it's another shitty modern warfare shooter being sold for 50 smackers
a small drop of average piss in a sea of piss

If you really don't give a flying fuck about this game, get the fuck out of the thread.

Boohoo cry us a fucking river.
Descriptions of every drone in the game.

Gotta love drones.
Reminds me of the drones from Frontlines: Fuel of War. Nothing negative about that, of course. I was pretty pro with the drones.

Cool. I've never played Frontlines so this would be the first time experiencing drone warfare.
Oh it's fun I tell ya.
I'm glad they are battery powered instead of just having a signal range this time around tho.
Does that mean they've got a timer now instead?
More battery drained when on the move.
Doesn't seem like a timer, more like 'fuel remaining' type of thing.

oh don't get me wrong bro

Call of Duty, Battlefield, Medal of Honor, Frontlines: fuel of war, Homefront etc........ the same rubbish that keeps on getting recycled.
The world is getting bored of this shit.
Anything set in modern day is considered CoD or BF, pisses me off.
There is only so many things they can do.
If the games good, it's good, don't give a fuck about what inspired it or what's similar, if it's good then shut the fuck up and play it.

I suppose you represent nearly 7-8 billion people then?

Actually, Call of Duty is pretty much the only thing on your list there that's getting recycled.
I would say Battlefield and MoH are both being recycled or have been recycled in terms of just new games. Though gameplay-wise CoD has barely changed and would be considered the most recycled.
I didn't even know much about Homefront until I saw this thread. Looks pretty cool.
Oh yeah, newest MoH is just BFBC2 with less medic and less recoil, can't disagree with that.
BFBC2 is different from BFBC1 in that it's on pc, aswell as more detailed destruction, nothing groundbreaking, but it's a game made for it's engine, to get some experience with destruction in MP before BF3.
But yeah, Homefront is a battlefield game in spirit, just like Frontlines is one too.
And not the spinoffs like heroes and BC, the true BF games like BF2 and BF1942.
I'm really looking forwards to not having to worry about putting up a tent at helicopter spawnpoints however.
I love how many idiots piss on this game because it's so called "modern warfare" and is a recycled copy of CoD and BF... your loss, guys.
Lemme teach you a bit of history:
DICE releases BF1942
Trauma studios makes Desert combat mod for BF1942
DICE aquired Trauma and made BF2 with them
DICE releases BF2142
*battlefield games here*
THQ hired core members of Trauma studios to start Kaos studios
Kaos releases Frontlines: Fuel of war
And now kaos be releasing Homefront.
So yeah, the reason many people are comparing it to BF is because the series are actually similar as an effect of Kaos studios originating as a mod team for BF1942.
[editline]9th March 2011[/editline]
But yeah I laugh every time someone compares it to games like BC2 and MW2.
