So, anyone else noticing that servers are crashing all the time?
Does anyone else notice the ability to not fucking connect to any games/see any available servers at all?
Jesus Christ this game is a catastrophic waste of time and energy.
Mine didn't arrive. I mad.
I disagree. You can very easily, objectively review a games multiplayer. Most professional reviewers don't take in to account whether or not they are doing great or poorly, they just talk about the cool features it has, how it runs, and how it compares to the competition. On that note, and to extrapolate from the above, their Bad Company 2 review was 3 pages split evenly into singleplayer and multiplayer, with the multiplayer section offering a lot of information and praising everything it did. Meanwhile the Homefront review is 2 pages long, and the last 2 paragraphs casually mention that oh, right, there is a multiplayer here and it has some cool stuff. Like, really, read this:
That's how scripted this game is. Every ladder, every door, every obstacle forces you to step aside and wait while AI drones take the lead. Then you follow in their wake, always heading for the little white blob that says "follow", in case you were in any doubt. The closest you get to breaking ranks is dawdling around while they wait at checkpoints, searching for the glowing golden newspapers that provide your recommended daily allowance of pointless collectible as your companions bellow looped instructions to regroup. Even then, stray too far from the preferred path while rooting around, and our old friend Invisible Walls makes an unwelcome return to shove you back in the right direction.
And show me one other shooter that is different from this. I had the same experience playing Bulletstorm of all games, and that didn't even have an awesome, unique multiplayer to fill it out. Following AI drones? Check. Picking up "pointless" collectibles? Check. Invisible walls? A million checks. I could agree that the singleplayer (what little I have seen of it) could be more unique (Making the Koreans 100% evil with no real personality was a mistake, as was making your character have no real backstory), but it feels like the review is comparing it to other shooter's AMAZING SINGLEPLAYER EXPERIENCES that just don't exist.

I literally can't connect to anyone. I either 'lose connection to host', get put in a game with only myself, or with one other person.
Also, did anyone notice they have a 'friends' tab in the multiplayer browser, with no actual way of adding friends?
Fucking game reminds me of Blacklight: Tango Down.

Not only is it a day one release of a multiplayer title, but this is one of THQs biggest releases yet, so bear with them.

So how long am I going to have to bear with them?
How long will it take for them to realize that two shot kills are stupid, and utterly destroy the experience?
I thought you couldn't connect to anyone, but now it's a balance thing? Stop changing the subject. I dunno when or if they will change the guns.

HE WAS LYING TO YOU ALL ALONG TO MAKE YOU HATE YOUR FAVORITE GAME!!
The bastard!

Try restarting your net connection/pc?
Single player started out heart wrenching then continued to go down hill once [sp]they got out of the town[/sp]

Just out of curiosity, how likely would a non-american be emotionally drawn into the story?
Just out of curiosity, how likely would a non-american be emotionally drawn into the story?
From watching videos of it, I think there are some pretty brutal moments that you can acknowledge no matter where you live. Theres no real over the top AMERICA :eagle: moments. You could easily see the game taking place anywhere else with suburbs.
Just out of curiosity, how likely would a non-american be emotionally drawn into the story?
There are parts where anyone from anywhere can get emotionally drawn, but there are parts where its very American oriented.
lol, BF2 review from both, 9/10. No singleplayer
haha oh wow, BC2 review on Eurogamer, saying the singleplayer campaign is a "stand out in the genre"
I guess THQ should have paid them more.
Personally I find BF2 to be a better game, though.
I thought you couldn't connect to anyone, but now it's a balance thing? Stop changing the subject. I dunno when or if they will change the guns.
Its both.
I can barely play MP and when I do its that shit.
Am I the only one who went in/is going in with low expectations for the singleplayer?
Did no one here play Frontlines? It was the same story there: 4 hour long rudimentary campaign to set up the much better designed multiplayer.

What a shock. Major publishers missing the point entirely and reviewing an obvious multiplayer title on it's singleplayer shortcomings.
The only thing Homefront ever had going for it was the amazing story, thats why they marketed it as written by the same guy by Red Dawn and Apocalypse Now. Storyline doesn't mean anything in online play. If you went into Homefront thinking the singleplayer was just tacked on to a multiplayer game, you must have confused this for Black Ops, but then again, given the unoriginality of the multiplayer, I wouldn't be surprised by that.
And while I agree that IGN is a terrible reviewer, they didn't review an "obvious multiplayer title" based on singleplayer shortcomings, namely because this was marketed as an epic story with epic battles and a very unique storyline that drew in a lot of people tired of the same old "AMERICA IS DOMINATE" storyline, so when the campaign lasts 3 hours and makes no logical sense and has a budget for voice acting lower than the budget spent on dog food for a week, people are bound to be disappointed by the fact that they just shelled out $50.00 for Call of Duty: Operation Korea. It's clear though that you've got a serious case of buyers remorse, mainly because now that the game is out you've gotten wildly sensitive and you're actually trying to prove people wrong rather than just rating them boxes.

They won't change the guns. To hope that they're going to spring in with brand new weapons to make you feel less bad about getting, what was it, a total of 6 or 7 guns? Is just silly.
Edit:
Oh nevermind, Raidyr is still very very butthurt.
So is the overall consensus of facepunch that homefront's bad or decent? Worth the 60?

There was only one or two that drew me in.
The game as a whole just feels so scripted and predetermined that it threw me out of the immersive sphere when I actually got to do things in the game.
One thing I hated the most about SP was the utter lack of character development.
What is known about the main character is summed up within the first few seconds of the game:
You are a pilot. You've lost everything. Your Name. You did something (or nothing?) to make the North Korean MPs angry.
No explanation as to why you were singled out, maybe the North Koreans merely wanted to erase air travel from the face of the earth?
No explanation as to why the guy talking to you is significant.
In fact, aside for their names, and very little of their personalities (one of which is very contradictory) you know almost nothing about any of the core characters in the game.
How are we even suppose to enjoy multilayer if it consists of few shots kills, or ELEMENTS of vehicular combustion!!!

Actually I will rate you dumb because you are still in this thread after I told you to get out. You don't care about the game and you are just trying to get reactions from people. Just go.
Also
Kopimi has been added to your ignore list
:3:
So is this any good?
So is the overall consensus of facepunch that homefront's bad or decent? Worth the 60?
It's good if you like playing multiplayer games.
It's bad if you bought it for the singleplayer or expected a huge release to work perfectly on day one.
I would wait a week to see how things go.
So is the overall consensus of facepunch that homefront's bad or decent? Worth the 60?
I would take those 60 dollars, convert them into whatever currency North Korea uses, and wipe my ass with it.

Also, I can do the same thing: Get out.
