Dice comes in, Bad Company, pretty solid game and take on the BF series of games. Make BC2. Even more solid and improved take of the BF Games... Now Dice is taking BF back to its Roots... It's a formula impossible of failing
I was never mad or hostile. I think you are confused.
It is refreshing to see your thoughts on Homefront though.
How big are the maps? I don't like the small, fast paced ones that MW2 offers.

They range in size from a large MW2 map to a large BC2 map.
Holy christ this game sucks. Short campaign, cookie-cutter weapons, zero originality, shit mulitplayer and a plot that makes about as much sense as a dr. Seuss book.
The worst part is it's gonna get GOTY, then a new edition and it will still cost 60 euros.

It's getting too low reviews from the major critics to make game of the year, don't worry about it.
I'd laugh my ass off if BF3 turned out to be a failure.
The SP might be, MP definitely won't be. They have a tried and true formula and they'll stick to it.
My dad bought it for himself. So I didn't have to worry about paying for it myself. I can play it smooth on a 3870x2 1gb Vram with a Dual core duo 3.1 GHz on medium settings. Game keeps crashing when loading Level 2 though. level 1 runs fine though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Tiger Direct you fight in use to be a Lumber Liquidators in pre-release media? (the game looks a lot better then it did when that pre-release picture came out)

This is a game that I accept there being real stores or products. It is suppose to be 'real life' be it a fictional future.
It helps with immersion.

Also some of the guns ingame come from here

There is a billboard in one of the levels with an ad for it.
I can't wait to shoot Koreans from the top of a White Castle

Stabbing snipers with knives ontop of Hooters FTW
I remember seeing that JanSport store in the multiplayer map. All I thought was "Hey backpacks".
Also knifing Koreans inside of white castle is nice.
I charged at him, he turned around, and I stabbed him in the face =D
Honefront uses Steamworks right? So that's a plus.
How good is SP in this game? How is the customization in MP?
man i cant wait to drink a NOS energy drink because of this game, as well as eat some WHITE CASTLE then stop by HOOTERS with the bros
The Battle on and around the Golden Gate bridge I'm liking. I just like fighting around iconic/well known land marks or places in games.
Can't wait for the UK release on Friday to give this game a shot. I'm not expecting wonders, but the reviews so far have been pretty decent (which is higher than I expected), and the multiplayer commentaries make it look like good fun. Spiderbite's couple of videos on it look pretty cool. Like I said, I'm not expecting wonders, but it should be a good bit of fun for a couple of months.

Don't forget to stop by the TigerDirect warehouse.
I just beat it. Not bad... kinda ends like they just stopped writing.
I really liked this game, singleplayer was lame but multiplayer fun :D
I read that the devs were going to try to make each kill seem more significant instead of it feeling like you're just killing a ragdoll. Did they pull it off?

Nope. it's like killing a puppet that wears red and blue body armor.
The more I play multiplayer the more I like the damage in this game; at first it seemed too much, but it more and more feels right. The ability for one person in the right spot to take out three, four, or even more enemies with one magazine is great; it means you can't just run around like a headless chicken spraying eggs everywhere while clucking and still dominate the roost (a bit much?). Simply put, it adds an additional layer of tactics to the game.

Why sure they did, how can their failure to convey any emotion whatsoever while spamming the fuck out of you with enemies at every turn be unforgettable?
Multiplayer is barely passable.
Wonder what the developers thought when the game doc said they said 'hurr durr lets maek wepins kill in 2 shots. o n snipers r 1 sht kil"
I mean really? Its fucking stupid. The whole point of shooters not killing you in one hit is so you have some warning, and MAYBE, just MAYBE a chance to fight back.
The only way to really get kills in Homefront is to either snipe, use drones or see the other person first.
I mean the weapon balance is so off that it completely excludes smgs because the damage is so staggeringly lopsided.
Assault rifles kill in about 2-3 hits. Snipers kill in 1, SMGs kill in like 6 or 9, probably more.
Don't they see the problem there? That means that at practically any fucking range the assault rifle will ALWAYS win since the user actually has warning that they are being shot.
The general concept of the MP battle commander modifier is interesting but is completely contradicted by the fact that even if you manage to get one or two stars, you are now COMPLETLY FUCKING USELESS to your team, as you camp to avoid the multitudes of players going for you.
That's a great reward: help your team so much that you become useless.
I just don't understand whats so great about killing enemies with the absolute minimal amount of effort. It doesn't make it more 'intense' or action packed, it just makes it fucking frustrating as hell, and motivates people to act as pussy snipers and kill people from across the effort with no threat to themselves whatsoever.
Hell, because snipers are a one shot kill there is no goddamn point for aiming for the head, making it even less of a skilled class, and more of a fucking xp booster.
So congratulations THQ and parties involved; you have shown us your complete lack of understanding of multiplayer player behavior and SHITTY FUCKING SINGLEPLAYER.

You just described camping.
No, he just described the feeling and tense atmosphere of knowing an enemy can be nearby and take you out if his reflexes are better.
You won't get a chance to spray 30 bullets into him if he misses a couple of shots, while your screen turns a slightly redder hue upon damage.
[editline]16th March 2011[/editline]
Prefer that to a 2 mag standoff in COD, knowing if only you hit 15 out of those 30 shots instead of 14, you would have got a kill.

Na, you can rape with the machine gun.
I tookout like 8 AI in Homefront with it.
It was epic.
AI.

No, He is describing camping. You see, the most successful tactic in this game is to find somewhere and hide. Then, as he said, pick off three or four enemies. That takes no skill. Why? Because the person running into your sites never saw you and never had a chance.
The other gunfights in this game involve dying because someone is camping right by a doorway, or killing one or two people and then dying immediately after.
When I bought this game I was expecting something new to play to freshen up my battlefield BC experience. You see in that game, battle lines shift much more fluidly because it combines reflex with tactical choices in both load out and movement.
I also saw you rated disagree on Monkay's statement about how the koreans were essentially puppets.
I'm not sure if I should even consider continuing this discussion with you since you have a skewed view on how killing hundreds of unnamed, cannon fodder npcs could in an way be meaningful.
I mean fuck, because the guneplay is the way it is, each kill felt even more marginalized. Made all the more ridiculous by the presence of exploding barrels and other mundane generic shooter shit.
You can't even rely on teammates for backup or help in this game because of the damage. You don't have time to identify where some shot came from if they get killed in two damn seconds, because whoever fired is now killing you. Especially if there are multiple enemies camping in the same fucking spot.
That isn't fun in my opinion. That's just stupid. As for the red hue, have you even played this game? If you take any damage at all, you not only get red jelly, but it fucking pulsates. It's pretty distracting.
Darn, too many mixed reviews about this game. Some folks say it's good, some folks say it's bad. I don't know if I should get Homefront or save my money for another game.

Honestly, save your money. While the multiplayer is good, you'd be better off saving for BF3 if you want a shooter. It will most likely be superior to Homefront.
