No, He is describing camping. You see, the most successful tactic in this game is to find somewhere and hide. Then, as he said, pick off three or four enemies. That takes no skill. Why? Because the person running into your sites never saw you and never had a chance. The other gunfights in this game involve dying because someone is camping right by a doorway, or killing one or two people and then dying immediately after. When I bought this game I was expecting something new to play to freshen up my battlefield BC experience. You see in that game, battle lines shift much more fluidly because it combines reflex with tactical choices in both load out and movement. I also saw you rated disagree on Monkay's statement about how the koreans were essentially puppets. I'm not sure if I should even consider continuing this discussion with you since you have a skewed view on how killing hundreds of unnamed, cannon fodder npcs could in an way be meaningful. I mean fuck, because the guneplay is the way it is, each kill felt even more marginalized. Made all the more ridiculous by the presence of exploding barrels and other mundane generic shooter shit. You can't even rely on teammates for backup or help in this game because of the damage. You don't have time to identify where some shot came from if they get killed in two damn seconds, because whoever fired is now killing you. Especially if there are multiple enemies camping in the same fucking spot. That isn't fun in my opinion. That's just stupid. As for the red hue, have you even played this game? If you take any damage at all, you not only get red jelly, but it fucking pulsates. It's pretty distracting.
I don't see why your complaining about guns killing in 2 shots, seriously your complaining that the game is making you use actual guns instead of call of duty and others where your using bb guns because people like you can't watch their corners or be careful before they go somewhere and your complaining about wanting a chance to fight back?

I don't know why you referred to Call of Duty like an idiot, because I didn't. Also, what the fuck are you talking about not watching your corners? Are you completely fucking deluded? Do you not understand how people play the game? Half the time I'm shot by some sniper over a hill with only his head peaking out. How am I supposed to watch out for that? How am I supposed to watch out for a guy hiding right next to a door frame without exposing myself to fire from him or other threats? Last time I checked there is no xray vision, and to 'check your corners' like you suggest would involve spending 10 minutes closely scrutinizing the entire fucking map. I do check my environment in any game that doesn't grant instant death whenever I stop out a door or walk ten feet. Think about the things you write before you make yourself look like a fucking moron. And on that note, other games do a far better job of rewarding people for paying attention. Take BF:BC2 for example, it has numerous visual and auditory cues to tell you exactly what is going on on the battlefield if you're close enough, and make a decision based on that information. In this game, you maybe get footsteps and your teammates or enemies dying. Real fucking helpful. Even marking enemies is fucked up with a gigantic obstructing diamond highlighting enemy locations. Why not keep it simple and out of the way such as the orange triangle in BC2? Yet another downside to having weapons kill in two hits, other than excluding weapon classes is the standardization of weapons in the same class. What defines one assault rifle from another if they do the exact same thing? Sure they have the scar, but its rate of fire is so slow it is also sidelined by the M4, ACR, and K3
It's not letting me change my settings. :|
It's not letting me change my settings. :|
Are you ingame? you can only change the settings from the main menu.
Are you ingame? you can only change the settings from the main menu.
Apparently I have to change my resolution for it to actually work. [editline]16th March 2011[/editline] What the fuck.
North Koreans have confiscated vital level assets for the greater good. Your sacrifice is appreciated.
So far most reviews about MP I have seen show, do not get the game if you want to kill someone in 15 shots, if you want a more realistic approach it is epic.
Framperton I think you should take a break or something you seem pretty upset.
Darn, too many mixed reviews about this game. Some folks say it's good, some folks say it's bad. I don't know if I should get Homefront or save my money for another game.
If you ever plan on buying it wait for a sale.
I am going to guess that this will be like $2.50 next X-Mass sale.
I agree with Frampteron, the only people getting any kills are the ones camping with snipers, using anything but a sniper just means you're feeding the snipers so they can get their killstreaks and keep on killing you.
Framperton I think you should take a break or something you seem pretty upset.
I am. I'm currently trying to figure something out in Hammer, which is a lot less aggravating than playing Homefront or bringing up how broken it is so that people popping in can help form their opinion. The game isn't good no matter how you try to defend it. It was a disappointment. I am disappointed that I bought into the hype. The damage system for MP just shows how broken it is. It isn't a feature. It's a flaw.
So, umm, yeah, the Red Dawn remake is basically becoming a Homefront movie now... MGM Changing 'Red Dawn' Remake to Avoid Offending China

I, for example, have watched a lot of gameplay so I do see what you mean, people die exceedingly fast, and the 2 hit kill semi-auto sniper rifle is a bit overkill. You could always try adapting to it like one of the above posters said. You mention Bad Company 2, a game with low damage weapons and iffy hit detection, so it is only natural you are getting frustrated trying to play a game where the guns kill in half the time.
I agree with Frampteron, the only people getting any kills are the ones camping with snipers, using anything but a sniper just means you're feeding the snipers so they can get their killstreaks and keep on killing you.
Call me crazy, but I actually like the default SMG (the one that looks like a shorter M4 or something) the best out of all the guns I've tried thus far; sniper rifles annoy the crap out of me and turn into a boring camp fest, assault rifles seem a bit less effective, and the HMGs are too inaccurate on the move for my tastes. I'm not about to say snipers aren't annoying and need a nerf of some type (bullet drop would help); but you can still be sucuessful without sniping or camping. I highly recomend playing ground control as apposed to TDM, it just seems all around less sniper filled and more fun.
I just played Battle Commander Ground Control and I don't think I saw any Snipers.
I just played Battle Commander Ground Control and I don't think I saw any Snipers.
Try that horrible map, Cul,De,Dumb map
Try that horrible map, Cul,De,Dumb map
I raped that map with the default SMG. That gun is so good. I don't see why everyone is complaining about the damage. Yeah, you know, bullets hurt. Just fucking take cover and you'll be safe.
Try that horrible map, Cul,De,Dumb map
I liked that map. [editline]16th March 2011[/editline] ACR is fun.
I liked that map. I can't seem to get the handle of it. could be lack of skill, I seem to get sniped a shit ton, ending with 1-14 :( [editline]16th March 2011[/editline] It seems that multilayer is supposed to be tactical, but most of the population runs around like in COD. It's almost near impossible to do anything, unless you camp.
When I go to cap points in a house I huck all my grenades through the doorway I'm about to enter and then rush and spray at anyone I see so, yeah. :v: Also tree houses.
I'd laugh my ass off if BF3 turned out to be a failure.
I will laugh when you don't.

HOLY SHIT is it ridiculous using the Parrot drone. I got 5 stars twice and 6k BP just spotting people. I can't figure out why no one would shoot me down. :v: I got 5 kills/4 deaths/ and 27 mother fucking assists. I shoot drones down all the time, so yeah.
I just beat the singleplayer, what a disappointment. After I went to play multiplayer because I was having fun with that but now for some reason the server browser lags horribly. I also think the game is overheating my computer because my computer shut itself down twice while I was playing it.
press X to hide in mass grave
Do you guys even like the game?

Buy or rent? I heard the multiplayer sucks balls, and I hate buying games with only singleplayer (or bad multiplayer).
