I can't wait for that nerf for the sniper rifles. Snipers in this game ruin the game.
I can't hit agree harder.
The thing is the proximity rockets do more damage the closer they hit to the helicopter. I have seen an Apache take 5 rockets and still be flying. To kill one in three you need to land all three. Not to mention the Apache is an absolute monster if left unchecked. Played a couple games yesterday where I just didn't get shot at at all. It could still be a bit powerful but that will take another week to see as people progress in the ranks.
I can easily, and reliably closely hit an Apache with all 3 proximity launchers and take it down. But yeah, if the entire other team ignores you helicopters are devastating. Just wait til more people unlock the Rhino drone. Helicopters will last 30 seconds. And I wish more people would click the "Join Vehicle" button when I have a helicopter in the air. I feel half as useful without a gunner/spotter.
Do launchers lock on, or do you have to be a really good aim?
Do launchers lock on, or do you have to be a really good aim?
The RPG and proximity launcher are dumb weapons. But the proximity launcher blows up if it gets close to, for instance, a helicopter.

I also find the Rhino drone to be pretty shitty. Takes 3 seconds to log on, 2 seconds to fire, and 3-5 seconds to reload. Helicopter counter-measures last 10 seconds with a cooldown of 8 seconds with the perk that any right-minded person would use. It is also entirely useless against infantry targets, and marginally useful against tanks. I guess if you were creating an all arounder kit it would be nice for dealing with both vehicle threats (land and air) but I personally use the RPG, proxy, or both.
The main reason this game is awesome is that you can get 4 teammates and cruise the map in a Humvee.
The main reason this game is awesome is that you can get 4 teammates and cruise the map in a Humvee.
Oh and the mounted guns are actually usable unlike in BC2. And I found it easier to use vehicles in this game.
The campaign may be short, but I'm having fun replaying it multiple times.
The campaign may be short, but I'm having fun replaying it multiple times.
I keep meaning to start a Guerilla playthrough but the multiplayer keeps grabbing my attention every time I launch it :v:
Nevermind, I hard rebooted and everything was back. Whew :buddy:
Oh my god fuck this game. I pressed the reset button on the server browser thinking it would reset the filter but it resets my stats. :smithicide:
Are you kidding me?
Is there any way to make the game use 3rd person as default in vehicles?
Well, just finished the single player campaign and that was probably one of the worst campaigns I've played recently. Hoping multiplayer will change my opinion on this game.
Well, just finished the single player campaign and that was probably one of the worst campaigns I've played recently. Hoping multiplayer will change my opinion on this game.
I liked it. Explain.
I liked it. Explain.
Well, the characters were exaggerated. Your character had zero emotion. You don't even hesitate to [sp]jump into the mass grave[/sp]. The game had nice setpieces, but acted like it had no reason to connect them. [editline]20th March 2011[/editline] There was also very little engagement in the story. The only time I felt the game acknowledged me was when the NPC's needed me to do something. Although, it was funny when [sp]your teammate says "This is like the 5th time you fallen off something and lived."[/sp]
I have gripes in the single-player but it was good, in my opinion. Yeah, the lack of interaction with the other NPCs suck. It's like no one wanted you there and the only reason was that you can fly a plane. Anyways, I seem to be sucking really bad at the multiplayer right now. I got shot out of nowhere and die in like one shot.

I went from consecutive 3:1 games assaulting objectives and rushing around the map to barely positive games doing the same thing. People take 10 shots while I die in 1-3. Despite constantly dying to the M200 with one shot, I have to use 2 90% of the time, and one guy actually took 2 then killed me in one. Gonna take a break until they release a patch or fix whatever is causing me to do 50% dmg to people.

I try to, but then I remember that I die to 1 shot to it all the time so I figure just go to the chest. I do try to aim for the head tho.
Hows the SP?
Hows the SP?
If you go into it thinking it will be a heartfelt story and have gameplay that redefines the genre, you will be disappointed. If you go into it thinking it will be a short, scripted, on-rails tack-on for a great multiplayer experience, you will be pleased.
I wish they would hurry up and release the patch, I'm getting really tired of snipers.
I am 20 kills from Expert M200, will probably get that tonight, then work on the M110 tomorrow. I feel so bad killing with those guns :ohdear:
i'm noticing bugs with singleplayer if you go to far ahead with out the npc that you have to follow, he or she will not move and you are stuck and also people getting in your line of fire path, goliath even does also the 870 custom shotgun is epic 1 shot kills from far away!
I should actually play as a sniper before it gets Nerf 'd so i can feel how overpowered it is.
Am I the only one that thinks most of the attachments are useless? I tend not to use optics in games because there are generally better options and I would rather learn how ironsights work than give up a grenade launcher or silencer, but everything sucks in Homefront. The Silencer is ok, but all the grenade and airburst launchers suck, masterkey sucks, EMP launcher is ok but I carry EMP nades anyway. All of my guns have sights besides my SMG which uses silencer.
I should actually play as a sniper before it gets Nerf 'd so i can feel how overpowered it is.
Now that's an idea. Since it's gonna get nerfed, might as well abuse it.
Well, just finished the single player campaign and that was probably one of the worst campaigns I've played recently. Hoping multiplayer will change my opinion on this game.
I found the MoH and BC2 campaigns worse. MoH was similar in every way but didn't have the unique setting that Homefront had. Bad Company 2 was worse than both though. Just as short (beat on normal in 5 hours, same with Homefront), but with none of the cool memorable moments other on-rail shooters have. The first and he last level were ok just because they were actually unique. Blackhawk parts were boring, the tank level was boring. I felt like I was working getting through the BC2 campaign. The characters were actually less interesting than they were in Bad Company 1, which as an incredible feat of apathy on DICE's part.

I'm getting better at the air drone. Feels good to fucking blow up snipers.
