This is going to suffer the same fate as Frontlines did, a good game really, yet swamped under big name titles.

"same knife animation" yes, im sure lots of people stab things the same way, why is that a concern? its not the same, actually, but if there are multiple stabbing techniques you know of you should totally become a game developer to fulfill that hud similar.. I'm not seeing it honestly, with how "similar" it is to cod, you could say that about any game. EXP pop up.. yes just about every game has that nowadays, big shocker

I know I'd love to see Sweden get invaded or something in a game of course but who the hell cares about Sweden anyhow (I am swedish FYI)

It's made by a much bigger company and it's a very big and famous IP while Homefront is new and from a pretty small company in comparison. They come out within a week of each other and even though the multiplayer isn't that similar how many people actively play two multiplayer games? Console players are going to see Crysis 2 as a brand new game that they missed out on before while PC players see it as a graphics behemoth and not many are going to bother going with Homefront. I give Homefront's multiplayer a month at most and even that's being pretty optimistic.

Also, how is it hard to play two multiplayer games around the same time?... I'm probably getting both so.. dunno man. [editline]6th March 2011[/editline]
no i'm just stating my opinion
Well sometimes going into every thread about games you don't like and telling everyone how much you don't like it isn't exactly going to cause anything except an argument between both sides. I'm all for freedom of speech and that junk but honestly nobody wants to hear your opinion. It's like going to a football game, turning to the person next to you and going "man this sport sure is fucking stupid."
no i'm just stating my opinion
You've done that several times and people seem to have gotten the point. Do you really need to continue doing it?

Buying both is already $110 and that's not even considering the games that come out behind it, and as hilarious as it is I bet that stupid headband is the only reason Homefront is so high on the top sellers list. I was looking at the Top Sellers and Homefront's sales took a massive jump right after that announcement so chances are a big chunk of the community is just going to go back to TF2 after a while of playing it.
Why do you consistently continue to talk shit about this game? Do you honestly have nothing better to do?
Chill out, he's right in a way. Battlefield 3 is going to be the First Person Shooter everyone's going to play once it's out. Doesn't mean Homefront won't do its part to hold us over though
Yeah, such a shame that this thread isn't about Crysis 2, Call of Duty or Battlefield. Onto Homefront: I wonder how long the campaign is, anybody willing to bet atleast 10 hours? Maybe more depending on if you choose the North Korean side? Or less perhaps. Or equal, of course.
I love games where you can choose sides. Doesn't seem like many fps games do. It's difficult with all the releases this year, but I should have more cash by the time other games start coming out.
I dunno if you guys have seen this but later in the videos it talks of an AI General that assigns you missions to do while in multiplayer. Seems like an interesting concept to mix it up a bit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZBeGKra33U

Lol at all these kids comparing this and that with call of duty. Who gives a fuck. It looks fun as hell! Welp COD came up with it first, guess that idea can NEVER be used again. Get a fucking grip. Assholes.
RustySpannerz;28461935']I'm really against all the "CoD Clone" stuff, but that along with the "Battle-points" really makes it look they're copying Black Ops.
You can't buy shit ingame in black ops, and this game was in development before black ops had any info on that "money system"
What's with my country's obsession about getting invaded?
How come noone's giving Section 8 credit for actually inventing multiplayer random objectives and that you can spend ingame $$$ to buy stuff? Okay S8 didn't invent it but S8 needs some love too.
S8 was pretty not good.
Nobody said it wasn't either. However I say that it's a decent underrated shooter.

I hate to be "that guy" but the gameplay and especially the multiplayer is such a boring Call of Duty clone it almost puts me to sleep. When I first read about this game I loved the story because it was extremely unique in that it wasn't another boring story about America dominating the world while sailing triumphantly across a sea of migrant workers (As a certain game reviewer once put it). Unfortunately ever since I started seeing gameplay trailers and E3 demos, it became apparent to me that the gameplay would just blow. The mapping and the settings and the storytelling would blow my mind, yet I had something ebbing away at my confidence in this game. Now that we're seeing even more gameplay and demos, it just becomes more obvious how stale the gameplay will be, and the multiplayer won't even be worth playing. It comes out in a week right? So I guess I'll have my chance to confirm or disprove my fears then :( Also, to those trying to say that comparing this to CoD makes you a fanboy or something of that likeness, please just shut up. If you look at the multiplayer gameplay trailer, nearly EVERYTHING is a carbon copy of Call of Duty. Just looking at the gameplay trailer it looks like Call of Duty with poor lighting and terrible font choices for the UI.
