Finally fixed it by opening Portal 2 and viewing my backpack. For all that hassle and not being able to access stuff I bought for a full day...I got coal. Sweet.

Hey you know when you sign up for the gift thing they give you a gift, I got Half Life 1, but it says they give you another gift just for checking your gift? I never got it though. Are many people getting it?
So wait, valve gives you a free coupon, and if you look at that coupon, you get an achievement, and that gets you another gift?
Because I only have one gift in my inventory.

Anyone else has this problem? I have completed the the 'Check your inventory - you've got a gift!', but when I try to go and check my inventory it just opens my Team Fortress 2 inventory.
