Men of War is less what I'd call base oriented. You don't spend as much time building shit, you're mostly just given a scenario, like defend a section of a town, and you're given a bunch of troops which need to hold out against a ton of enemies. Of course the the scenarios can be different in that you'll be told to attack sometimes. It's incredible fun when you get moments like deciding the best course of action would be to flank, but there's a mounted gun defending that flank. You take control of a single unit, crawl through the grass up behind him, then melee kill that fucker from behind allowing your squads to move up.
Of course though this is singleplayer, I haven't tried multiplayer. Most people who like CoH say they prefer it to MoW. But I much prefer MoW.

A bit rougher but definatly more fun once you get into it.

Try to trade your coal for something, and then if that fails craft it. There are people in the triple digits of coal, I doubt you'd have a shot at a prize.
