The is one of the worst arguments to ever use besides the "But can YOU make a better one?" comeback.
He was complaining how it doesn't make sense, how cutting blocks in peices doesn't make sense. You can make a fucking tool to do it. You make a pickaxe out of diamonds and sticks ffs.

It just seems very out of place that one block suddenly could contain 8x8x8 blocks. It seems WAY too complex compared to anything implemented in Minecraft so far. Something like 3x3x3 might be more plausible though. This would make it far easier to place blocks inside of without having to be shrunken to see the details. One block being able to hold 3 blocks in a row would look a lot less radical and tiny than one block being able to told 8 blocks in a row. It would allow sculpting and redstone in a manner that would still match the Minecraft art direction more, and would for example still allow you to make circuits such as inverters fit into a single block. Make the price of this be that you have to craft different miniature blocks with different textures that aren't just the original ones. [editline]16th December 2011[/editline] Although not a terrible idea, I still think the easiest solution still coherent with the current Minecraft gameplay and art direction is to just make the wiring easier by making it easier to connect and making it possibly to place on walls.

This is exactly how optical size illusions are made. He didn't shrink the player, he simply noclipped inside the block so that the blocks looked normal size in perspective to the rest of the world.

Well either way that's not a mechanic that would make sense in the official game, and placing blocks that small would be small without getting that close to the blocks.
Power of 2? :v: [editline]16th December 2011[/editline] Really, any even number would work
Power of 3, cubed.
Power of 2? :v: [editline]16th December 2011[/editline] Really, any even number would work
Why even? Also I meant 3 cubed.
Why even? Also I meant 3 cubed.
why odd?
There's no real reason to go with even or odd. 3 sounds like a good number though, it's appealing and it's a decent size, while 2 seems a bit to big. The thing about the 'small blocks' mod is that it doesn't make sense. There are a lot of things in the game that aren't realistic, but they do make sense in some way. I mean, drawing a pickaxe with diamonds and sticks isn't realistic at all, but you understand the way it works because it works in a method of drawing the object (This is why most items aren't crafted in a random order that doesn't resemble the item at all). Placing a block and then the blocks you place on them doesn't make a single fuck of sense. If they had a saw like in little blocks to split up blocks would make more sense.
Chunking a block that consists of 16x16 (read: power of 2) textures into 3x3 wouldn't work. The textures would be cut in the middle. And besides, nothing else in the game is a power of 3 :v:

The reason I said even was for ease of redstone inputs as you would be able to have one in the middle of the block.
It's possible to give blocks being used on mini spaces to have a health bar, and everytime you place a mini block it just takes a bit away it's health bar. Also, this is relevant;
Jeb is Jesus, it's confirmed.
Merry Jebmas to everybody
Jeb is the hottest giraffe on earth.

I think it'd be pretty cool (Similar to Terraria lol) if after the bos was killed some form of corruption could start spreading, or even unlock a new world that was completely fucked up and mutated and shit.
I think it'd be pretty cool (Similar to Terraria lol) if after the bos was killed some form of corruption could start spreading, or even unlock a new world that was completely fucked up and mutated and shit.
you mean the nether?
I wouldn't mind some elements from Terraria to be introduced. Like actual furniture for example.
I just want programmable redstone gates, so you could fit an and gate into one block or an RS NOR latch into one block. Something like wiremod from garrysmod if you've ever used it.

I don't want minecraft to turn into gmod, where most people are creative by programming a fucking E2 or whatever turret/engine.
God fucking stop.
I remember the old days of Gmod where people built giant moving robots and ships with nothing but thrusters, wheels, and elastics.
That's why I hope noone will ever make a wiremod(redstonemod) for minecraft. Everyone will be creating automatic turrets and piston-sand V12 engines instead of building incredible stuff.

I just wanted to be able to take simple logic gates and put them in one block.
