Have you guys not heard of redpower?
It's even getting cpu programming shit now, just like wiremod. The moral of the story is quit gettin mad, nobody forces you to use it and if you dislike it so much you won't be made to feel inferior by people who use it.
In Minecraft, yeah, nobody forces you to use it so it's all good. It's implemented in a way that fits in the game very well. It's primitive and complex at the same time, so new user can easily learn how to make simple things with it, but advanced users can make very complicated contraptions. Most importantly, many people still build normal stuff without redstone because redstone is not always a necessity. In Gmod however, wiremod is a real fucking pain in the ass. It's complicated as fuck. If you don't know how to use it you will often be at a major disadvantage to other people who can use it. It's a third party mod and therefor you have to download it by hand, and it's a shitload of things to download. Almost every fucking server has it, so if you don't download it there will be glowing red error signs on every server you join. Nobody ever fucking uses Gmod to build normal and simple things anymore. I miss when people could build cars/flying machines/forts/doors/cannons/houses and other shit like that without wiremod.

Now it's all just working cars and planes or some pointless wiremod thing.
This is unrelated but, thanks for warning me about my chest not being locked by the way :v:
Wrong thread?
No, I was just thanking Squids_eye for placing a sign above my chest on our server telling me it wasn't locked.

No wiremod to make it work. When people ask me why I don't use wiremod, I say that the fact that they're asking me why I don't use it is why I don't use it. You don't need wiremod to make a working helicopter. You just need dedication, patience and a fucking ton of time.
It's possible to give blocks being used on mini spaces to have a health bar, and everytime you place a mini block it just takes a bit away it's health bar. Also, this is relevant;
I'm scared.

Yeah, I agree on that miniblocks or whatever shouldn't be implemented, but the fact that redstone doesn't even run on walls, makes even such a thing as pistons (which is in the game by default) completely useless. I'm not the guy who's expecting a game where I can build a working microprocessor on a fairly small area, but is it really too much to ask for maybe two-way locked doors? That's a simple AND gate, and it's pretty much not much more complex than a simple lever, but for some reason I'd have to make a 5 block thick wall to implement such a door. tl;dr: redstone is a non-finished feature, and like so many others, it shouldn't have been in the game in the first place, unless it was much more polished.
There are a lot of things I miss from old Gmod. RP used to be kind of fun, and whenever someone made a robot that could walk only using winches and stuff everyone was amazed :V Stuff like the technic pack is somewhat equal to what Wiremod is for Gmod, though. People just automate everything, before you know it people will make a mod that just has robots that build stuff for you. But setting that kind of thing up is fun. Thinking of new ways to making these machines are creative and exciting.

Also, you can stick the wiring under the floor.
A 1 block wide T flip flop might do that, if I am understanding you right. Also, you can stick the wiring under the floor.
Not if you're on the second floor or whatever. I'm simply saying that it's unnecessarily cumbersome.

Usually just PHX models and hl2 props. :v:
The only problem with redstone is its way too bulky. You have to hide all the redstone and repeaters and torches in the side of a fucking mountain just to make something that might make someone say "wow, cool" once before they move on/decide to destroy it.

I still say the simplest solution is to make redstone possible to place on walls, and make it easier to connect to outputs. This would solve a wide array of redstone related issues, mainly it would solve a lot of space issues that formerly required you to build stairs or other more complex structures leading the current up/down.
Redpower is the best way to fix that.
Not even, look at the Little Blocks mod. That for sure is the best way to consolidate redstone. Now here is a brain fuck, LittleRedpower? That would be even more epic since the best part of Redpower imo is the insulation for wires. Back on topic: I actually met Jens and Tobias at Minecon and thanked them for all their hard work.

Now that Jeb is the boss of Minecraft I can actually see that happening in the distant future.
what would be cool is that if you could use gold to make wires which only the way you want them to and go on walls and ceilings (since dust cant really)
what would be cool is that if you could use gold to make wires which only the way you want them to and go on walls and ceilings (since dust cant really)
Combine redstone with slimeball = redslime. Possible to place on walls. (just make sure you get a large amount of redslime from it, otherwise it will be too hard to make)

Minecraft sucks a lot now tbh
Explain, and don't try to weasel your way out by not replyin'.
Explain, and don't try to weasel your way out by not replyin'.
"It got too mainstream for me man, I was playing Minecraft before it was cool" :v: I don't see anything wrong with it, and my fiance just praises it for getting better and better.
I think people who say that minecraft now is worse than before are just bored with minecraft. Now it has way more feautes, some of them useless but it's a feautre that it wasn't there before, the only thing that's worse now is optimization.
Minecraft sucks a lot now tbh
Please elaborate.
