Or they preferred Minecraft when there was almost nothing to do besides build.
Play creative mode then.
Anyone even know what Jeb is working on now? I haven't heard any news about updates in about 2 weeks.
Anyone even know what Jeb is working on now? I haven't heard any news about updates in about 2 weeks.
He was spending holidays with his family and I think he already got to the work a bit.
He was spending holidays with his family and I think he already got to the work a bit.
Well, I figured the family time thing out myself. Who doesn't spend time with there family during the Holidays? But I'm just wondering if he has any plans or if he's working on MC at all. Also, I just found out that he's working on a Mod API apparently. It was on the forum's news page.
Jeb's twitter circa 2 hours ago: Been working with @jonkagstrom today on Minecraft. He has already a plan how to structure the new mob AI system! Update soon, fellow stalkers.
We'll probably hear something after New Years, but nonetheless apparently they've got the new programmer. Some guy called jonkagstrom, apparently. AND as of 5 hours ago, he already has a plan for how to structure the new AI system, according to jeb_. Oh damnit. The Calzone is still the best ninja, circa 1973.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUCK YES OH MY JESUS FUCK I AM CUMMING WITH ANTICIPATION
Indeed, but don't get overexcited; we'll probably see more progress after the New Year rather than before. We might get intel on Jonkag's work some time in the middle or end of January, if we're lucky, although hopefully Jonkag share's Jeb's work ethic and passion for progress, in which case we may hear more at an earlier date.
Explain, and don't try to weasel your way out by not replyin'.
Well granted, that is MY opinion, I'm not saying it like it is a fact, but I really feel like a lot more could have been done. I've been playing since indev and I really thought more would get done in the time that I've owned minecraft. PERSONALLY, I don't like it that much anymore, it is too repetitive, and I feel like there is nothing to do anymore. I've built the largest castles I can imagine, and I've built them with other people too. I've beaten the enderdragon, I've gotten a 64 stack of diamond blocks, I've done everything I can think of possible.
That's relative to your experience, you no longer liking it has nothing to do with the game itself.

This is for example the feeling I get with Oblivion, and I used to have this feeling with Minecraft during the 1.6 update. My recommendation would be, abandon Minecraft for a while. Come back after a couple of months or something after the game has received some (hopefully) big updates. Also if you have not done it already, start building things with redstone.

In due time, dear child. In due time. Thing is, it helps to make your own fun and projects. I for one am making a sort of "step-pyramid-mine" beneath my brick house, and that's been tiding me over for a while. I'd recommend things like adventure maps, too, even though i've never done those kinda things, and trying out various mods might help refresh your interest as well.
I hope Jeb makes the PC version of Minecraft compatible with Xbox360 controllers. Having one myself, and using it for many other games and the fact that Minecraft is on the 360 now, it would be pretty cool.
Theres a lot of things to try in minecraft, and a lot of things to perfect. I'm still working on a design for a mob trap that could be extremely effective and done completely legitimately without weeks of work. A lot of people that get bored with the game in my opinion only do these small 'good enough' projects, and then get bored. Try doing new and bigger things.
Isn't Jeb also working on the Mod API or something?
It would be amazing if they'd be able to make clients download the mods that the server is running automatically. It would make my multiplayer server with all my friends who don't know shit about mods so much more fun.
