Installing now. This will be amazing.
Awesome game. I'm having a blast with it. I love these little gems that come out and blow your expectations out of the water.
Played about 2 hours so far, and I love it!
Am I the only one so far who's been trying to reach 6 skulls on levels? Really want them upgrades...
I bought it early but I don't seem to have the special armor.
... And I thought they said there were upgrades other than trap upgrades, like magic and stuff?

You'll unlock the Weavers and they allow upgrades for magic, guardians and other stuff.

You can get upgrades for pretty much anything from the Weavers, but they only last for that level.
I'm about halfway through the first level with weavers so far.
[sp]The hunter things are fucking difficult to deal with, at least for me[/sp]

[sp]If you stun them with the crossbow alternate fire you can take them out with your sword[/sp]
Oh man, that final level. Jesus christ. I maxed out on guardians, four paladins and a shit load of archers.

Oh yeah, and nightmare mode? Fucking armored Ogre on level 1.
When do you get the Fire Bracers? I'm at the level where you get introduced to the Weavers.

A level or two after that you get them.
I have to say that the level where you get the fire bracers is probably my favorite.
I got a love-hate for the mushroom spores that convert enemies, I like the idea, but it's not as useful as other traps, considering the price.
Though I love placing shrooms on the side of the battlefield, and grab Gnolls with the windbelt and place them on the mushrooms, then it's a-okay because they're pretty strong, and the gnoll itself is full of win.
I manage to convert 3 ogres at once sometime, it's pretty awesome when it happens.
Gotta love RE for not bullshitting around when it comes to their difficulties. War Mage can be challenging and Nightmare Mode is pure hell. Which is insanely fun.
Ugh, I want to get the lightning ring already! :(
I'm hesitating between this and Dungeon Defenders, which will be multiplayer....
If Dungeon Defenders is anything like it is on my phone. Then I would suggest going with OMD. Yes, pc and phone are two different, very different, platforms. But that game is more traditional tower defense where the enemies just walk in a straight line. I like this game more the AI moves around and even chases you.
Yeah, the one thing that pushed me to get OMD is that each trap had a clear impact when it triggered, where in most tower defense game the stuff you build would just slowly chip away at the enemy's health until they fell over and died.
Oh my fucking god I finally finished every levels with 5 skulls on war mage difficulty.
GOD that last level, oh my GOD, FUCK, CAPITAL-LETTER-SWEARS, that was HARD as SHIT.

I did that with two things: A lot of brimstones, and A LOT of Paladins. Paladins will become your best friends throughout the later levels(Since they can draw and tank Ogres, allowing you time to kill them or concentrate elsewhere)

Yep, I use paladins a lot already, but I had to change my tactic to get 5 skulls.
First time (as in first time I played the finale) I placed 1 paladin at each doors at the beginning, then kept adding more paladins, archers and auto ballistas as the coins cashed in, but it didn't cut it with all the kobolds and shit.
So anyways, the way I did it was to block every stairs in the center that leads to the rift except the northern one, then I added a crapload of spring traps (upgraded to affect ogres) and a couple of paladins atop the stairs just in case, at this point every enemies except gnolls (and sappers that just rush the barricades to destroy them) have to go through those tunnels that can be filled with clockwork maces, which is what I did, it did the trick, the only thing to look out for is the sapper round, but you have enough time to fix the holes in the barricades.

I used paladins in a similar way except I placed Brimstones at the bottom of all four stair cases, then a paladin at the top of each stair case. After than I placed four paladins at each corner of the Rift. This tactic is a lot more player oriented so I was running around taking out Ogres and Sappers for the Pallies. I'll need to try the blockade trick sometime though.
mass archers is an amazing tactic on chokepoint levels.
I think I'm gay for spring traps.
Spring traps are awesome on levels which include orcs/monsters running up stairs and having pits near them.
Place 6 spring traps on top of stairs to throw orcs back to bottom and have another 6 spring traps to bounce the orcs to other traps or to pit.
Forget springtraps, forget archers; AUTO-BALLISTAS is where it's at!

The problem I encountered with that is that it takes a while to actually kill them. To get the full 5 skulls you have to beat the level under a certain amount of time.
Spamming archers = insta-win
This game is surprising me with how fun it is

I bought it the day before I got Rage expecting it to distract me until Rage arrived, but now I spend more time playing Orcs Must Die than Rage.
If you arrange some swinging maces over some tar pits so that they swing forward and back (not left to right), pretty much nothing besides ogres can get past. Especially if they're both upgraded.
