I realize that you could use windmills to shoot WAY furthur than the maximum range.
9283 members, only 717 to go.

Question : are infantry battles less "stiff" in AS?
[hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-h70sLaYtE&t=1m52s[/hd]
If only units were more efficient at shooting out of the windows, trains would be awesome. Right now they are mostly death traps.

Based on beta footage, it looks exactly the same, if you're referring to the AI's constant deathwish.

No, I mean do small arms sound/feel better, and do the infantry NOT feel like puppets that fall over stiffly when they die. I'm talking about fluidity, like the tanks, but then for the infantry.
supposedly

They said its much more fluid, so they say.
If not, I'll be making some new animations for AS. I was going to make new ones for MoW but I'm just gonna hold off and see if they fix it in AS.
I haven't played Assault Squad in a while but I didn't really notice any changes in the animations or anything. However, infantry definitely has a much bigger impact on the battlefield now.
I love Infantry battles.
assault squad seems too meager
just download gsm
One of the major advantages of Assault Squad, is that it's backed up with a whole lot more people in development and if the Steam group is any measure of the players, populated.
Will MoW owners get assault squad for free after the beta?
Of course not
I doubt it.
Ninja'd
If you bought the closed beta, you would receive an extra map pack, and a I think you get a mention of your name.
Only 500 more to the open beta!
I feel so incredibly hyped up about it, even though it's most likely very similar to the original.

It is incredibly similar, but from what I've seen, infantry, direct control and graphics are all majorly improved. That, and the limited hero units prevents LOLHEAVYSPAM and all the russians don't like it. They just buy hero units and expect to own everyone with them only to lose them to one AT grenade to the engine. Machineguns are terrifying now as in they cut down infantry in seconds, and the GSM-BoW style squad systems are perfect.
So yeah, it's alot more fun to play it.
it is gsm for 40 bucks

Was it just me or was Spetsnaz units available to the Soviets? I thought the Spetsnaz weren't officially assembled till the 50s? You only see for a like second and he didn't use them in the game.
it's men of war einstein
Spetsnaz was just the name for Special Ops in russian, so it's just a "special ops" squad. The REAL spetsnaz would be overkill, with backflipping hatchets and all.
There's many different Spetsnaz detachments anyway

I liked the reference to the tank machine guns in CoH being completely useless. That was one thing that turned me off of vanilla CoH and made me love MoW.

That's awesome. I wish the tank fight gamemode was real. :v:
The part about CoH is also pretty accurate.

That was the best thing I have seen in a while.
