Its a box you can tick in the options to swap mouse buttons around.
GSM has more content and is very similar, doesnt flip the mouse buttons, and is free. Guess im going to stay with plain men of war for awhile.
Brothers of War > GSM. Also, GSM doesn't change the game engine. :v:
Damn, I was looking at buying this when it was like $3 a while ago, I knew I should have. $20 is a bit steep for me right now though :(
Brothers of War > GSM. Also, GSM doesn't change the game engine. :v:
I prefer Panzer mod over all, but nobody really has that.
Unfortunately an unreliable individual posted a link that was meant for a small group of testers to assure everything works fine. Since apparently everything does work fine, I can therefore announce that the open beta will go live in 8:30h. Thanks for your patience!
That was posted 8 hours ago. :smugdog:
Beta is now live! Go here to sign up. http://www.digitalmindsoft.eu/games/men-of-war-assault-squad/open-beta
Beta is now live! Go here to sign up. http://www.digitalmindsoft.eu/games/men-of-war-assault-squad/open-beta
So this is the real beta? Good thing I just woke up and didn't download the other one I guess. Also it's an open beta, of course it will be a demo.
Then call it a demo, not open beta.
Calling it an open beta gives them an excuse to have it be filled with bugs. Then they can just say that's why it's a beta. :downs:
Good christ some of you really don't understand what beta means, since minecraft ALPHA came out. You people expect nice games with no bugs and just play it to have fun. You should know that game testing is one of the worst jobs you can have in the industry, be thankful that it even frikking works. /rant off
Calling it an open beta gives them an excuse to have it be filled with bugs. Then they can just say that's why it's a beta. :downs:
Never came across any bugs in the closed beta.
Lol, I just randomly got on at 4:30 to find our the game is open for me now. I also saw instinct hosting a game, so I went in and thanked him. Men of War has a close community like that. EDIT Besides the Russians, they might as well be a separate server.
Haven't played much online yet (only some closed matches by myself to look around a bit), are there many Russians? Or did the steam group bring an influx of English-speakers?
Haven't played much online yet (only some closed matches by myself to look around a bit), are there many Russians? You will always encounter one usually in every big game. It is painfully obvious not many Americans play cause its hard as hell to get a game around 8-11pm here.
Welp downloading the beta now, let's see how this goes.
I'll get it down in my off-peak time tonight.

Also I joined a 4 player match, waited for it to fill up, it fills up, everyone is ready, and... the host doesn't start the game. So I start thinking: Why won't he start it? What is it? Then I see it, they all have RUS in their names! So I bailed out of the match (Ok I didn't bail because they were Russians, but because they wouldn't start then damn match). Nothing against Russians, but why do they have to stop to chat when the game is full and we are waiting to go and why do they hate me? Not that other players are better, 8/10 of the matches I have joined that were hosted by English speakers ended up with them aborting the match to kick me (usually because I take out their heavy tank with infantry or a light tank). So summing it up, why is the community either Russians that hate me, or Europeans/Americans that that get butthurt and kick me?

Russians tend to hate everyone in games that they inhabit in large numbers (see EVE) 2. people tend to get mad when you blow up their shiny expensive tanks (I'm not a dick so i just get sad faced but that's about all).

A bunch of Russians griefing and PK'ing in all possible ways (usually 10vs1), never saying a word in English and hating/killing everything (seriously if they could they would have killed even the trees and the rocks in Age of Conan). Yet there are loads of Russians that are nice people online, but 95% of those I meet online just hate you, your family, the ecosystem, earth and just about anything that breathes (RUSCorp hates even stuff that doesn't breathe though). [editline]3rd November 2010[/editline] Not as bad as Italians though, Russians are overly-aggressive but Italians online are ITGs or completely clueless (also they can't organize worth shit). I know because I'm Italian so I have experience with them (like Russians not all are like that, but those that aren't get overshadowed by the majority).

Anyways, I was tuddfudders if you saw me.

The fact that the menu is team controlled (HORRIBLE idea) and that the units you order are assigned randomly makes it even worse.
What ports do I have to have open in order to host?

Installing this bitch right now, can't wait to pwn some russian heavy tanks with dynamite. NO TNT OR KICK TANKS ONLY yeah right go fuck a pole *boom*
Shouldn't there be a new thread started for the open beta? "Men of War: Assault Squad OPEN BETA discussion"? Might draw in some more people.
Installing this bitch right now, can't wait to pwn some russian heavy tanks with dynamite. NO TNT OR KICK TANKS ONLY yeah right go fuck a pole *boom*
"NO GOLIATH OR KICK TANKS ONLY" will be the new thing now.
I would be posting map screenshots, but my map crashes when i load it in MP, due to the size ,so i have no motivation :saddowns:

So has anyone managed to beat a Skirmish?
