Agreed, Men of War really does need a WH40k mod. It just SCREAMS "Put thousands of guardsmen in this location".
Good thing Men of War doesn't have a morale system though, otherwise it would just be "SQUAD BROKEN SQUAD BROKEN SQUAD BROKEN SQUAD BROKEN SQUAD BROKEN SQUAD BROKEN SQUAD BROKEN SQUAD BROKEN SQUAD BROKEN"
Hell, 40k even has Space Goliaths.

no shit bro

I'm pretty sure I saw a couple of new building models in the town on the USA Skirmish map. But yeah, there doesn't seem to be a lot of new objects in the open beta maps at least (Admittedly most of them are old maps anyway)
I was asked to comment this out.
Installing MOW :byodood:
:excited: hasn't existed in years.
I have noticed in Skirmish that the AI is effectively "Spawn [Y] of [Z] every [X] seconds" with armoured cars, tanks, different infantry squads etc. being added as more points are captured. Followed by "Move all units to nearest enemy point, leave one squad behind to defend each"
Just did skirmish, it rocks. I kinda like how the game gives the stuff to the player with the least guys. On a troll way.
So I was just playing the Overlord map, using 2 mortars and a single squad of 2 riflemen. Suddenly, my teammates buy an M4A3. I get it, I drive it through the map, killing a lot of guys when it blows up. My mates buy another one, for me too. Hehe. Did exactly the same with it. And one guy was camping on top of the hill with the bunker. He stole both trucks with things in it and he had a greyhound up there. We were dying down there, but he refused to help us out. So I fired a single barrage of mortars near him. :downs:
Something i made earlier today.

is that a bunkered oil rig?
it doesn't seem very safe

Would be awesome to have a ship-based map were the spawns are bases like that. Sadly the boarding mechanics for ships suck ass so...
Any WH40k mod on the horizon?
I imagine Space Marines could be classified as tanks with armour thickness and all, that would require animating the models and all though.
There were a few people trying for one but the lack of proper melee really doesn't help. I dont think they're working on it any more.

There are a couple of new maps but I don't think there are many new objects.
Splitting the resource gain between a few team mates would make everything take a lot longer to get, as Ghost said, get better team mates. You won't miss anything too important in the span of the 10 seconds it takes to switch over a tank or a squad.
That is a really shitty argument. First off, it requires you to convince friends to get the game. A few of my friends would be willing, but most of them need some coercion. Then, what about when your friends can't play and you just want to play online? Whoops your teammates are dicks. This is going to kill the community for skirmish, because after a few games of not being able to play what you ordered, you quit. The same thing is going to happen with everyone. They are going to be tired of having shitty teammates resulting in the whole skirmish thing just fading to nothing. Which means it was wasted time and resources if no one is going to play it.
Just bought Men of War and the Expansion
I will skip Assault Squad. I don't know it feels like a addon
I will wait for Vietnam!

I bet the multiplayer would be fun. Sneaking and killing your enemy's without being detected

It is still very challenging.
Me and TicTac took over 100 minutes to take the 3rd line of defense at Omaha. Then everybody crashed because it went over 100 minutes.
I bet this game is awesome on LAN party's...

There won't be multiplayer.
Oh and there is another thing, instead of making Vietnam AND AS, why don't they make a MoW 2, with proper AI and all that?
I thought MoW:Vietnam didn't have MP?
Ninja'd
They still haven't changed the fucking helmet's tendency to fly over 5 miles everytime someone coughts towards you. Don't they have any belts in them? (or what were they called)
So going to post this about on their stupid forums

I heard they added in Co-Op.
Also, I agree. They should just cut the crap and make a new game on an entirely new engine, but that's expecting too much. They haven't really made a new game in years. Men of War is the exact same game as Faces of War and Soldiers: Heroes of WWII. All they've done is modify the game a tad bit and repackage it as new.
I'm not saying I don't enjoy these games, but they really haven't done anything in forever. I would love a new game on a new engine, because quite frankly even with the changes in AS the AI and infantry control still sucks.

Yeah they have Co-Op luckily.
I agree, just make a completely new game already, take what they have now and delete it, then start anew.

:irony:
Also with the more advanced RTSs (like MoW is), developers should program the basics like an FPS instead. You know, the fully 3D physics (no fucking tanks welded to the ground), AI that doesn't lack the I part, complete availability of terrain (by this I mean the ability to put units anywhere as long as you can get them there, just like in an FPS were you have full collision with everything) and all that.
Long time Lurker,
Just tried the demo for a second time, this so much fun but I haven't the money, guess I need to go get my job back!
There won't be multiplayer.

Hohoho, silly acds, that would require them to work! :downs:
Men of War with actual AI in MP games (They said the "AI" in Assault Squad wouldn't just be MP with bots, but that's only because they didn't want to develop AI) would become my favorite game.
It's been proven time and time again that DMS are infact, incredibly fucking lazy.
The thing where it splits units you bought amongst your allies? Yeah it does that it men of war too, when you play co-op on the missions.
They didn't change or add jack shit, its the same fucking script.
Have you noticed any new building models? No, they haven't added dick. Infact, they still have fucking buildings from S:HoWW2.
The only real things they've done are rework the lobby a tiny bit, add a few new resource hogging shaders, increase the resolution on textures and tanks; and add a shittastic "hero-unit" system which DOESNT EVEN FUCKING INCLUDE THE KING TIGER FOR THE GERMANS, BUT INCLUDES THE JUMBO FOR THE AMERICANS? WHAT THE FUCK
Fucking, I didn't know they're still recycling buildings from HoW. You know, I thought the IW and Treyarch were fucking lazy but oh my god....
This should be a $5 expansion, that occasionally goes on sale for 1.
I want basic manoeuvre and run-for-cover codes for the AI, it's really unsatisfying to see your only soldier with an AT grenade rush the tank from it's front and get torn apart by the MGs, or to have an entire squad get gunned down by a couple of enemy soldiers or get blown up by tanks and mortars on their way to some location because you didn't ordered them to take cover.
I bet this game is awesome on LAN party's...
Yah, only if you actually have friends to play with and are intelligent enough to play. Hard to do that in Texas.

Dunno 'bout you. But I got enough people to play AS with. But ok then, we'll do it your way. You suggest a better system to implement. Let's see if I can't name problems that are worse than the current system..

You get what you order. Resources are split evenly and costs are lowered (but not by 3/4, more like to 50% or 35%). To avoid people ordering 4 Tigers at the same time, most things have a cooldown, so if I order a Tiger the rest of the team can't order it for X amount of time.
It probably will have quite some problems, but that's why there is discussions about this. For example now you are going to point out the problem and one can work on fixing them.
