It came out 8 hours ago over steam...
What are APCR rounds used for?
What are APCR rounds used for?
They're even better at armor penetration than AT rounds
[editline]11th March 2011[/editline]
It's basically a high-density core of a shell (tungsten carbide) with a light outer casing (like aluminum) that's much lighter than a standard AP shell and thus goes on way higher velocities. The kinetic energy of the shot is concentrated on the denser core and thus provides better armor piercing capabilities, albeit the maximum range and accuracy at extreme ranges was pretty bad
So basically use them when you need an extra punch at closer ranges.
Yea, small tanks can take out the heaviest with APCR.
I crippled a IS-3 with a Matilda by flanking around it and hitting it in the side with an APCR.

They also have less chance of damaging the tank after penetrating.
I'm trying to get some Infantry Only games going but it's really hard to get a full room with just one person.
Add me if you want to play some friendly games.
This game's unforgiving. I finally got it working (Default settings put it at 80Hz), and I couldn't get past reclaiming the village. Putting everyone in cover did nothing :frown:

This person is a decent player, played a round of farmland with him and we raped.
I did the first mission! Not correctly by any means, lost 6 men and had to run over every Nazi I came across with the Tank. But I fucking did it!
Thats the best way to do it, with bits of your enemy ground into your treads.
[sp]i miss the days when AT grenades would explode when the man holding them was killed, it made being run over by tanks a viable way to destroy them. [/sp]

Use dynamite instead, ignite the fuse and run into the target.
How do you light the fuse on dynamite without throwing it?
How do you light the fuse on dynamite without throwing it?
Direct control, it's like cooking a grenade. Equip dynamite, press and hold fire, and run towards your target. You'll have to do that if you're going to use dynamite anyways, as the dynamite has a somewhat long fuse and it would be hard to hit a mobile target.

Well, that would make kamikazes useful.

Well yeah but the fuse is so long, and not everyone can get a hold of dynamite if there aren't wrecked tanks nearby. I mean, in the old game(s?) when an AT nade was dropped, it would blow up, pulverizing the body, pretty much every time.

Well you wont really have a great use of dynamite unless they recently wrecked one of your tanks in close combat. Enemies tend to blindly rush past destroyed tanks, ignoring surviving crewmembers in the bushes.
Wasn't there a way of blowing up your disabled tanks by doubletapping some key or something

Double tap L

Does it only work in MP? I kinda want to do it in the editor but I don't remember it working

Don't have the editor. Can only recall using it in MP (AI doesn't scavenge armor)

Every installation comes with the editor, but I'll go try it now.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get GSM working with Assault Squad?
Not unless you're a skilled modder. I wouldn't bother trying at this point, the GSM team has probably been working on it themselves.
Double tap L
Did that with a totally disabled Wolverine with a bunch of allies nearby.
BAD IDEA
