Max Payne was awesome and 2 was breath taking but Max Payne 3 honestly looks like shit.

We haven't heard anything of Max Payne 3 since early 2010. The game was also not on Rockstar's 2011-2012 plan presentation.
I am hopeful the game was cancelled. It sounded the farthest thing from Max Payne possible. I do not care what you think, it would not have been Max Payne. It would have been Splinter Cell: Conviction in the Jungle.
By far one of the greatest games I have ever played. Max Payne just hit all the right levels with me, hopefully Max Payne can revitalize that and do much more.

Max Payne is easily one of the greatest games I have ever played. The script and dialogue easily surpasses almost any game I can think of.
Remember Splinter Cell Conviction? Hobo Sam? Ubisoft was going to release an actiony social stealth game. Close to release, complaints and unsatisfaction led to the highly risky decision of completely redoing the game. Almost two years go by without a word, then the new Conviction is revealed.
Rockstat don't usually let down their fans. People complained GTA IV was too serious, so they made the ballad of gay Tony. They publish their own games and have enough cash and resources to start over. I'm not saying it's likely they started over and trashed Brazillian Max, but redoing a whole game from near scratch has been done before.
Stay optimistic.

Still, I love Rockstar for GTAII, which is the best GTA game in my opinion.
Bullet time was amazing when I played it for the first time. I'm not sure I had even seen the Matrix yet.

Max Payne 1 and 2 are incredible games that really just don't deserve that awful film or what looks to be an awful part 3 video game made by a totally different developer team. I hope that gets canceled.

I'm sure the long delay of third installment is probably to make room for a similar Max Payne experience for those who loved the series. I mean, after all, that's what it says in the description of the game: they're keeping the same old mechanics people knew and love, but the only new direction they're taking is the storyline.
I'm sure it looks a lot better than it did a few years ago. All you have to do is care and wonder about whether the gameplay is true to the words, and you'd be on your way.

it was pretty generic it was mostly a rehash of film noir right down to the russian traitor guy
