It's incredible; not only did they revamp the entire interface but they added user created guides, which are item builds and skill builds you can use in game. It even levels the abilities for you, based on the guide you chose.
It's an opinion. Don't force feed yours to someone else. Have you ever tried to shove a burger into some stranger's mouth while walking casually on the street ? It looks awkward at least. If instead you approach him nicely and go like : "Hello Sir, lovely day we've got (if you are still not punched by now, continue). My sincere apologies, but you look like a proper fellow. All the proper fellows I know enjoy a good burger, just like the one I am eating, it's delicious, pretty cheap and meat is most succulent. Would you care to try and share your piece of mind about it ?" Now, still awkward, but slightly leaning towards "it's awkward, but ok too"
how is shoving a burger into some kid's mouth the same thing as proving somebody wrong and stupid?
Woo, getting back into this. I've heard things about a mac launcher (that is in alpha or beta), would talking about that be considered warez? (like a link to said launcher and such)

They have a lot of items, which is good, but requires more practice/memory/understanding mechanics, which is still good, but off-putting, because for person like me, who is likely to get at least slightly lost, in-game guides and auto-builds are trap. I know MOBA genre enough to realise that it's easy to give enemy advantage by being careless/underprepared. I also know that teams are barely ever understanding in those cases. Because I can't get hang of the shop after 2-3 games (MOBA genre habit - spend as little time at Scoreboard/Shop as possible, get quick look/buy and get back to work) I am prone to get tunnel vision where I am not playing champion, but some very specific build of him. It's like playing Starcraft II with notes on everything - when to, what to, how to. It doesn't work, because this is not single player game nor is it linear. But the accessability of this choice and its "status" (Guide, in-game, approved, sounds smart) makes me pick it, thus later on I fear disobeying guide = I am one trick pony. League of Legends is so simple and basic in comparison, there is much more "what I want to do" involved rather then "what is the best thing people recommend to do here". Example, I remember watching Season 1 finals and some team Vlad went with exactly the same build I used in previous week. I didn't read Vlad guides since I bought him (I believe...March ?), I was just trying out things that seemed "fitting". When HoN had it's free-trial thingy I tried playing that "Plague Raider" thingy. 4 matches, I followed guides line to line. It wasn't fun playing game with walkthrough memorized, even though it was by no means easy, but every time I tried something "my way" I ended up being flamed into oblivion. HoN is harsher, I guess it's good thing if you are already into it or just enjoy this sort of approach, but I am not trading my comfortable sofa, where I know every crack by heart, for high tech massage armchair with remote and manual in chinese.
It even levels the abilities for you, based on the guide you chose.
I certainly hope you can set a hotkey to stop that function mid-game. It'd be funny to see a guy build complete damage with no protection against the enemy team, almost automatically.
It's just like any game, you don't know what the fuck anything is so you learn it. Now that you've learned one, and then you go try another similar but different one, you could try to relearn it or you could be a pussy about it and say how it's completely unintuitive and shitty because it's not the first one you learned. by automatic, rilez means there's a "which ability you should level" in the in-game guide in the shop.
Don't like it? Turn that shit off Now stop blaming the game. [editline]29th July 2011[/editline] No it'll automatically follow the skill thing as soon as you level up if you choose so.
HoN has better graphics, designers and features. Oh, and S2 > Riot any day. But I find LoL more fun for some reason
That's funny, I thought I posted something in this thread, but it's not showing up. Maybe I posted it in another thread by accident...

How would I be able to tell what heals, what is attack, and what isn defense?
HoN has better graphics, designers and features. Oh, and S2 > Riot any day. But I find LoL more fun for some reason
Any day of the week, HoN is the better game. I still play LoL more.
what are you doing in the lol thread if you like hon so much
What are you doing saying LoL is better than HoN in the fucking LoL thread? No shit you think that that's why you play Lol and Don't play HoN. your argument against denying is that "it's stupid". Good one bro. So games shouldn't have denying because "it's stupid", right? Threads shouldn't have Nikomo because he's stupid.
Ok, I want to start off with a healing item and an attack damage for my carry. How would I be able to tell what heals, what is attack, and what isn defense?
Well if you play the fucking tutorial they would know obviously.

Hmmm supplies this might have healing items oh look it does. [editline]29th July 2011[/editline]
Any day of the week, HoN is the better game. I think HoN is more polished but if I want to relax and not get my ass stomped (seeing as i'm new at HoN) I play league.
Shop still looks like a carcrash. Items, words, and tabs everywhere.
Fuck.
Agreed.
Well that shut me up.

Does the shop go to the main menu still when opening it again, instead of staying on the item I was on before?
No it's still stupid and closes to the main part when you close and open it.
I play LoL more than HoN. However, there is no argument whatsoever that HoN is a more put together and entirely more professional looking game. End of story. HoN has all the features Riot wishes they could figure out how to implement.
Lol even Realm of the titans already has replays implemented.
