What got my attention now was the whole post of that support dude saying:

In other words they invented the items only for dominion and they will have similar effects to already existing items AND to replace wards and potions.

Yes, you'll be able to buy ALMOST every regular items.
Madreds, warmogs (atmogs QQ), Bveil are some of the items you won't be able to buy

A bit late on the discussion, but I will still play LoL when DOTA 2 comes out, and I've bought (way too much) RP.
Will probably try DOTA 2 at some point, but I don't think I'll buy on release. In fact, I kinda hope it fails miserably (unlikely though that may be) just so all the elitists shitting on LoL and HoN can finally fuck off.

It's a Valve game with a 1.6 million price pool tournament. It's also 3GB big (LoL is 1GB).

ARAM and jungle-only map sounded awesome but it's probably fake.
And it'll probably have SDK (If not, this would also be the first Valve game without SDK on the source engine)

Was playing a game, me and CakeSodomy were premade, we both got random picks, i sadly got Pantheon, Katarina started to feed and me to get roflpwned by them, near the end they were in our base and they didn't want to finish it so they could get more ip, fine, we started to farm minions the score was something like 15-38, we took baron in their face, pushed like bosses and won, it was one epic game

Size of the game means nothing. It could be a polished turd for all we know, most of its size coming from good looking graphics while the rest of the game is shit.
And Valve is very successful. They will probably double what they put for the tournament because of the sheer fan base that loved the original DOTA, through advertising and the like. And if this were 5 years ago I would agree, Valve is awesome, but with Hat Fortress 2 and Portal 2 sharing elements of this bullshit as well, not to mention their inattentive nature (Half Life 3/Episode 3 is no where to be found), makes me reluctant to call every game they make a guaranteed success.
To summarize: Don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Portal was amazing, but if I understand game design correctly, the people who made half life 2 didn't make Portal 2, nor are they making DOTA 2. So for all we know the division of Valve in charge of DOTA 2 is the weakest link. Or they'll come up with a masterpiece.
I just think creaming one's self over it is kind've stupid, and its even more stupid to say its better then LoL and HoN even before its released.

And honestly, if a company spends a million on a BETA game, then you can definitely tell they put serious effort and funds into it, which means that it probably won't be a total flop.

- bans for joining game
- having to wait a couple of refresh ticks to get something else than Dota
- bans for downloading newest version, even if it came out same day
- 99% of champions are OP, the 1% is what <insert player name> plays becaue he is pro
- asking a question = world war 3

Masterpiece of audio-visual experience doesn't have to be award winning audio or visually wise.
For example, there is Crysis (visuals = winning), but there is TF2 with ever-lasting gameplay.
What I meant by audio-visual entertainment was that I am not talking about books, silent movies or paintings.
