and at certain rating you become Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum ranked

Nowhere near as OP as Annie, I can dominate an Annie in midlane but won't get a kill if she's careful and I'll get a max of 1 kill for using flash ignite, unless shes terrible of course, then she comes back at lvl 6 I'm under my tower full health, Full combo, if I'm lucky I have like 5% left if not I'm dead.
Tbh all mages are OP minus a few so either nerf them all or stop bitching, besides Cassie has an easy counter Akali, Xin, Katarina and anything else close range, sure she can ult them but unless shes fed she won't kill them and they'll get her just as low as she gets them, and then she can enjoy a nice 2 minute cooldown.

Then I wait a little and I get invited. Once in-game I check the match history and they're usually decent or good.

Repeating the question, it's somewhat mindboggling for me.
I usually am able to get 100% focused on farm as Nasus (lifesteal negates harass,etc).
Yet, if I use SS every CD I get oom pretty quick with only Philo Stone or Chalice.
Yet with both of them I get good sustainability in terms of mana.
I can sell Chalice late-game when it's pretty much teamfights only with average dose of farm (i.e. a lot more moving, a lot less killing stuff).
