Nocturne, at least for me, feels the best when in jungle and occasionally popping into lanes to clear mobs fast. Top notch farm right there.
Also, Jungle = ganks are harder to detect AND you don't have to worry about lane being suddenly lesser in numbers.
You know those moments when Shen or Twisted Fate just disappear from your lane and 2 enemies charge in right for the kill ? Same with Noc laning if he spots "occasion" nearby.
Sure, you have the paranoia aspect but lane Nocturne is just as good and can be better than a jungle Nocturne.

AP has more overall burst but is harder countered by straight up MRes. AD Triforce provides a more evenly distributed burst and more sustain with a slight trade off in potential maximum damage.

It's personal preference and based on what the enemy team is building.

Trinity force is all poppy needs and your screwed so screwed that and this makes it so you can't build mr or armour on its own also you have to get ar/mrpen.

She has horrible scaling and she NEEDS lich bane if played AP.

I know lane Nocturne exists, when Noct came out thats all what i did for a week or two.
But every aspect of lane Nocturne is overshadowed by jungle if available.
With buffs and the ability to be hidden (if they get no wards) your ulti's are nothing lane noct's would be.
