I bought HoN, and I enjoy it equally as much as I do LoL. I've tried playing DOTA quite a few times, but generally the experience was ruined by some cunt screaming at me (in a noob game no less) about being bad.

Losing gold on death means no come backs. Once an enemy hero snowballs out of control, you're fucked. It also rewards defensive play. Ridiculously long stuns/disables. Denying let's you prevent your lane from being pushed. In dota/hon, a fed carry can rape the entire team by himself. Basically, in Dota, turtle around for 40+ mins till a PA/SA is farmed, then go 1v5 ace 'em & win. Not to mention the overcomplicated shop system. and the list goes on.

The answer is no. I don't understand how you can't give criticism and critique to a game you've been playing for so long. I think the majority of regulars in this thread have 1000+ games of LoL under their belts. Any time any of these people, including (and I would dare say [I]especially[/I]) me, try to level some criticism against this game you come in with your rage wang flailing like LoL is perfect and because this is the LoL thread no one can talk down to it. Guess what? That isn't the rule. If we want to talk about the bad things of a game then we'll talk about it. I would certainly talk about the bad things of HoN or even DotA in their right threads.
The problem right now is you have a lot of disgruntled players in this thread that was something that is better. Soooo...that is what is being talked about. The possibility of something better compared to LoL.

Losing gold on death actually helps comebacks. If you kill a carry in the middle of a streak they lose all that buildup. If they die again then they have no money left to try to keep the snowball going. LoL doesn't prevent that. I don't think stuns are any longer in HoN/DotA are any longer than LoL. Maybe they seem that way because of Tenacity. A fed carry cannot go 5v1. They'll get killed really easily. The shop system isn't any worse than LoL. Actually, it's the exact same thing in a different suit.
