Well then, I wonder if they've ever played Nasus, Mordekaiser, Swain,etc.
There is a simple counter to Singed and its forcing teamfights.
Non-farmed Singed is not really dangerous, so if you force teamfight every time possible he will either have to join it (i.e. not farm) or be hated by his team for not joining it.
Now it's true, after certain period of time he will require just 1 driveby for all minions to die from poison, but it should happen slightly after laning phase, so until then they should try and starve him so he snowballs less.
Also, Riot mentioned that they like design of bruisers/tanks which deal more damage the longer the teamfight lasts (Despair, Poison Trail, Leona's Passive,etc). If you are not forced to stay in Singed's poison all he is left with is Fling.
Also, some people don't realise that Singed's swiftness has to work both ways. You can't make character that is great at chasing but shit at running away if you base it on Movement Speed and CC Reduction.

And oh, well, Ashe, Alistar, Sion and Kassadin? Can't they just put some champions that haven't been on free week a thousand times already?

Well, problem is that you CAN run from Nasus, done it several times before.

Though it does take a jump ability so you can confuse him, but still possible.

I just got smacked in the face with Riot's A++ balancing.
The enemy took Orianna and Singed and 5 flash.
We got denied at least 4 kills, couldn't stop singed and Orianna did insane damage.

Btw, 5 Flashes is same thing as Atmog in my opinion, it's a gimmick and will hopefully die/get fixed soon.
