Got a friend of mine to play LoL and he has no idea about how the playstyle of the game works so me and another friend decided to explain it as we went along. We done an intermediate bot game to get him into the jist of things and the first thing he done was run all the way to the top and start autoattacking the tower before the minions spawned, killing him before the game had even started.
This got so bad that he had about 31 deaths by the end of the game and 10 assists. My friend even died once by laughing so much she lost concentration all whilst in a very english accent he wandered around the map attacking wolves and saying over vent "oh this is all so straaaange"
He seemed to like the game though.
Nintendo doesn't write like that.

I know Zil is strong right now but I think he fell out of favor because he can't sustain a carry bot lane and doesn't have enough damage to be an AP carry. I could be wrong though.

iirc A very long time ago they reduced his AP ratio on his bomb from 1.0 to 0.9 and slightly reduced his base damage (possibly 10 or so).
His damage is pretty good I'd say, since his double Q will almost guarantee a carry to be dropped to 30-40% hp, but he's really good for the ulti and slow.
He's a bit like ap carry soraka in the sense that they both have extremely strong laning, but their damage does taper a bit lategame, but their supportive skills make up for lack in insane damage.
