That's for you to decide, don't let any tardball tell you what to do
Oh yeah, don't mine.
If you wanted to run missions how hard would it be later on to then convert to doing pvp ? And would it be worth doing ?

Incredibly Easy.
When you train missions, you train up ship skills and combat skills. When you want to PVP, you just train PVP modules (Warp disruptors, Webs, mWD's) and start from the ground up in ships. The combat skills are the same no matter what you're shooting, so you have a good amount of SP that is already useful.

I would like to try it again at some point but i would need to do some research because last time i just went in trained just random skills and didnt really think i was getting anywhere.

What races would you suggest and what sort of ships should i be aiming for ?
Is Gallente Ships better at Shield Tanking or Armor Tanking? I am piloting a Myrmidon and I have only been doing mining pretty much before so I am pretty new. I am doing L3's at the moment with it.

If you're looking to go from missions to pvp, Minmatar + projectiles are the best choice. For missions, you'll want to progress from Rifter (L1s) -> Rupture (L2s) -> Hurricane (L3s) -> Maelstrom (L4s) -> Machariel (L4s).
In PVP, the Rifter is one of the best frigates to learn in, and when you get comfortable, you can move on to bigger ships like the Hurricane.

Gallente primarily armor tank, but a few ships can shield tank (Dominix, Myrm, Ishtar come to mind).

Alright, been training skills for Armor Tanking :v:
What skills should I be focusing on except Hull Upgrades and Mechanic?
What ship should I get after Dominix? Should I try to shoot for the Dominix Navy Issue?

If you want to stick with Gallente ships (I hate them as mission runners personally), you'll want to train drone skills. To be any kind of decent with a Dominix, you need T2 sentries and drone interfacing 5, which are both rank 5 skills.
The reason I dislike Gallente for missions, they're low dps and slow. They use drones and hybrids, along with an armor tank (which reduces the number of damage mods you can use). This is why I always recommend Minmatar for missions: shield tank, high dps, fast ships. That's exactly what you want in a mission ship.

Thanks so much thats so helpful to get me started again.
Minmatar is excellent for PVP, as well. They have both armor and shield tanking ships, great survivability, and good choices in weapons. They may take a few more days to be competent with having both armor and shield, missiles and projectiles, but the flexibility in the end is what makes them awesome.

A bunch of minmatar ships can be both shield and armor tanked (not at the same time though).
I love using Drones so I will stick to Gallente for now.
In a couple of weeks time when I got better skills and ready to pilot a Dominix. Should I go for a Dominix Navy Issue or just a regular one? I will doing L4s solo and with my new Corporation mostly.

Navy issue doesn't have that many advantages for missionrunning. It has easier fitting, more drone space, more base armor HP, slightly better capacitor, extra mid slot.
And don't really consider it until you have all T2 Drones. Stick with base domi for now.

Thank you SO much for that link. I finally figured out why the mission was so damn hard and nearly killing me each time. There are 4 drones to begin with, and each one is a trigger for a wave. Me, being the noob I am, locked all 4 and made them my primary targets, spawning a clusterfuck of drones to rape me. Lesson learnt; read mission guides.
Since we're on the subject of cross training. I'm Amarr atm and wondered if it is a good idea to train minmatar ships as well since I'm interested in getting into pvp
I just got this corp mail from our home grown retard director:
From this point forward no one is to pod themselves unless theres no other alternative, No NO NO NO! it stops NOW! if your stuck in the wh with no way out, simply wait until someone comes online that can help you, when you pod yourself it takes away from your skill points and in the long run affects this corps efficiency, low sec applies here also, stop being lazy and make the trip back to hi sec, and for those that think its funny to coerce your freinds into doing this STUPID practice, its far from funny, people are trying to move forward here and all this does is slow them down and cost them isk, I Am still director here and if this continues there Will be consequences. sure its only a game but people are paying real money to play it, use some common sense for christ sakes.
Yes, that is the format it was sent in. Any ideas on what to say to him? I'm flabbergasted.
From the sound of things, he's podded himself many times.

These are the Tier 3 BC stats from singularity's cache.
Tornado sounds like a mini-machariel, possibly with even sillier ability to GTFO with a BC hull + nanos. Thanks for the info.
The Naga and Talos I assume are the Caldari and Gallente ships, why do they have a large energy turret capacitor bonus?
The Naga and Talos I assume are the Caldari and Gallente ships, why do they have a large energy turret capacitor bonus?
Large energy turrets are amarr weapons.

edit: t2 mods everywhere. sweet.

Yeah, that's why I asked what that bonus was doing on Caldari and Gallente ships.
I was hoping the gallente one would have a drone bonus as well.

How many SP do you need for incursions? I have about 7 million on my Gallente char.
