You can play portal 2 multiplayer with people from the PC/PS3 which means that it is possible to have cross-platform gaming.

It's not an issue with technology. Shadowrun proved that if you put PC and console players together, the console players stand no chance, joysticks are just nowhere near as good as a keyboard and mouse.

The only way I could see is if you allowed console players to use KBM as well, but even then, not all ps3 players would use KBM and they would get killed by not only pc players, but also fellow console players using KBM.
For any of you who missed the announcement like I did. IMO the reason why they want it to be a PS3 exclusive is because of Microsoft's shitty policies. Chromehounds was a great MMO that was shut down early last year because of Xbox Live. The only other MMO on the Xbox I've really seen successful is Phantasy Star Universe (Awesome game). MAG is already on the PS3 and I've been told it was successful by friends who own a PS3. I don't know about you guys but it seems the Xbox is more of a 2-16 player closed doors kind of experience and the PS3 is for the bigger multiplayer games.

I could never get into EVE, but Dust 514 looks awesome.
Actually gary the main reason they are putting it onto the ps3 is for the updates, they need to be able to push updates quickly and efficiently, microsoft just doesn't get updates out fast in the least.

Oh, the Team Fortress 2 problem.
Sony's been getting hacked every other day, horrible timing to announce PS3 exclusive. I don't get why they'd want an MMO on a console anyway, console games don't have near the shelf life of PC games. Once the next gen console comes out, the previous gen is mostly forgotten (some people might dust off an old console occasionally for shits and giggles, but that's it).

Well I don't know why it's on the PS3 instead of the 360, but the reason it's not on both is because Microsoft don't want Xbox players to be able to play with PS3 players.
